Multiplayer?
Sadly PBEM was a total flop. Anybody here willing to try it again, this time multiplayer?

Could you be a little more specific, what do you mean? which pbem was a total flop?

JayBee, I would be interested in a multiplayer scenario game. Pbem or some other variant way of playing, depending on the scenario. I know that snog and some others are also interested. What scenarios, time frame for turns, etc. did you have in mind?
Salutations,
Exile

I'll give it a shot. You all can have fun beating up my pathetic troops while I tell you why they should have won.

hmm, sorry guys, when I opened this thread I thought a window of free time had opened before me. I was wrong. As I said in other occasions, I have no exams, but I have something that sometimes is much worse: deadlines! I am fighting against the clock to get some paperwork in time. This is gonna take two more weeks at the very least.
There is another problem with this: the time zones. If you all are serious about this, perhaps it would be good to try PBEM once again. Just a suggestion.

JayBee, I would like to try the pbem thing once. What scenario did you have in mind? (When time permits, of course)
Curious,

PBEM might be the best way for me also. My schedule is not always set, and I wouldn't want to ruin things for everybody else. But I will say this: I will play my turn withen a day of recieving it, without fail. If the games ends, it won't be because of me.

JayBee; You chose the scenario, let me know what civ to play and when the game will start. I monitor this board every day, even if I don't post, so I will get the message. I hereby commit myself to a pbem game.
That's 2, 5 more to go.
Salutations,

Sorry for the continuous repeat but please remember this game will probably start beginning of April.

Is it going to be PBEM then? Then sure I'm in!
About the scn, I was very keen on playing "Spanish Pride" when we made our first PBEM attempt, but maybe that kind of game would take ages to play anyway, so what about a scn with less turns?

Personal favor: could we skip WW2 scenarios, please?

Actually the only WW2 scenarios I play are 2194 days of war and Redfront.

I like Colonies II. I also like Bonaparte, by the same author.

Ah yes, I forgot Bonaparte and if someone could find better european city graphics for Collonies III I would like to play that one as well, otherwise I would like Collonies II (may seem like a small thing but it really matters more than one might think)
I foresee one problem though, who wants to play as Irouquese/Horun/Soiux?

I also liked the Spanish Pride game but I agree, it's probably too long fort this. Other scenario suggestions, please?

Hmmm... Do the scenario have to include spain
John Ellis "Helas" scenario is a good one, and there are many playable nations (6 I think)
Collonies II (I hate the city graphics in Collonies III, otherwise that one is better) by the same author is also a good one, where all civs are playable.
30 years war by Jesus Munoz/kIndal?
2194 days of war by Captain Nemo.
I know that only two of the above scenarios include Spain so if that is required only those two have to be considered.

My vote for scenario goes to several candidates;
1) JMF's 30 Years Wars seems to be a good choice; everyone is familiar with it.
2.) 1650 by Markus Eklund, but it might contain too many cities for JayBee.
3.) Time of Thunder seems like a winner, but balance is a question.
4.) Habsburg Bid for Mastery comes in 4th.
These choices are also an accomodation to you, JB, my real preferences would be for a huge scenario w/lots of towns, but that might prove unwieldy--this will be my first attempt at a long-distance multiplayer game. Best to start simple, then work up to a gargantua.

J.Elis' Bonaparte sounds like a good choice to me, but I'll go along with the majority.
