Which PC Gamer are you talking about?
I don't think B&W is out yet...

That must be a European version of PCG because the March 2001 issue (U.S.) gave it 80%

So should we change the topic of this thread to "Alumni Meeting Place"?
In that case, anyone from Leiden Univ.?

Any game magazine that gives CtP2 such high ratings and says that CtP kills Civ2 dead has ZERO,NADA,ZIP credibility and not worth wiping ones bums with.

Why the HELL isn't this game out in Greece yet? Aren't we in the ****ing Union? Why did the Americans get to get it before us? How long does it take them to import some copies from the British, say, distributor? Concerning these things I feel we're still a 3rd world country.
I went to the central store of the country's biggest software distributor (Papasotiriou) today and asked them about it. The guy hadn't even heard it existed! I hope that he will move his ass and include it among the hudrends of stupid titles they import and display in their stores.
Btw, I haven't seen CtP2 anywhere too. Perhaps Activision ceased supporting the game too soon for them to get to import it. At least this time they did the Greek gamers a favor...

Hm, curious. PC Gamer gave it 54%, and they're never wrong... No, wait, there was that time they gave CtP 96%.
 |
In case I was confusing two games, the U.S. PC Gaming gave Europa Universalis 80%, not CtP/CtP2.
Chowlett, were you referring to CtPII or EU with that 54% rating?

Yay! It's finally here! EU is being sold in Greece too! Bought the last copy yesterday, right out of the showcase. They had only brought seven copies though, which vanished in notime.
In the beginning I was very dissapointed by the game. Slow to load, crashed twice. It caused me no trouble afterwards however and I kinda like the interface. Reminds me of Imperialism somewhat.
Played 10 years in the tutorial yesterday... I "colonised" the British isles and set foot on France. I should get the Grand Campaign going though; this way I'll learn faster.

axi, before you do, make sure it is version 1.08. If not, download it from the website.
Version 1.08 is much better, IMO, than the previous version.

Too late! I started already. I have 1.07. However, if, as they say, in 1.08 you can't buy enemies off with white peace, I'd be in real trouble, since white peace with the Hanseatic league is what saved my army from utter defeat in the hands of the Teutonic league forces (Their whole alliance declared war on me in the end of 1494 while my own alliance dissolved, since not even Austria would come to my aid). I'll check it out nevertheless.
