The Satanic Video
after drooling through that ten minute civ 3 video, trying to block out the sweedish dubbing and hear the dude, i began to get sad.
those heartless bastards at E3...
HE WAS PLAYING THE GAME.
DAMN HIM.
i think the nice, communistic way to do this would be to hand me a damn beta of the game now.
thank you firaxis

HaHaHa!!! Your frustration is felt by more then just yourself. If it meant getting the final version sooner, I'd rather skip a public beta all together if it means I got Civ sooner, of course if it means fewer bugs, I'll take a beta whenever its ready

It's czech, not swedish!
Why do people persist in spelling my language and my country with two e's?

Hey dont put me off downloading the video I'm 52% through it with just 1 hour 40 minutes to go. Might pause it for the night though as I'd only be finished at 3:40 and I need to get up at 11 O'clock (Oh no )
Americans can spell they just don't know how to write.

The video was good, but the low quality and the jerkiness and low quality sound made it difficult to get much of an idea about Civ3 that we don't already know about.
As for those bastards playing it....I know, I know, it's just not fair

All I have to say is:
Bah!
I want to get playing this game but it looks like it could be a while yet. All these damn screenshots and videos and talk of colonies are making my salivate. In the proverbial sense, of course

FOR WINDOWS:
-Go to audio controls (notated by some kind of audio-looking thing in the bottom right)
-Open Volume Controls (or whatever it is your software has you do)
-Set the master volume balance all the way to the right.
Believe me it works. The guy was talking check into the left side of the machine, and the firaxian was talking from the right.
Whatever kind of video recorder the guy had, it took note of that.
FOR MAC AND LINUX:
-GO **** YOURSELF

Screenshots of the blurry screen in the video would look horrible. The beauty of it was seeing some of the units move and fight while you got a voicover explaining the action. All that would be lost completely in stills.

We might get some High-res shots from the non-compressed version, according to the webmaster of the site. No promises, but...

Looking at the first posts in this thread I can hardly understand how people can complain about me after making only one not-so-witty post in a total senseless thread in this forum...

Actually it was Europeans (mostly the Swiss) who invented the internet. The US made it useful, though.

Ok, just to make someone angry...
AFAIK, the USA universities developed the internet protocol, the net "backbone" (TCP/IP) working side by side with military people (Arpanet, etc.).
The WEB part (HTML, hyperlink, graphics, www concept) started from Switzerland (Suisse) university.
As a last minute revelation, I must tell you about a well know "hidden secret" I red once on a signature:
