Succession Game
Hi,
I've just recently started a succession game over in the Civ2 forums but I'd like to start one here, too. I'm not a super player that finds the hardest level a breeze; I'm more of a mid-level player. Anyone interested in a game? I'm thinking about 8 people will be a good number. Post here is you're interested and I'll set up the game.

Yes, I am. Your game is on the impossible level but I don't do well on that level because I'm not a hardcore gamer. I'm interested in starting a game for people who are about the same skill level as me. I'm not interested in starting a competition with another succession game; I'm interested in starting a game on another level.

We're just having some fun with you, Anatolia.

Anyway, we've got about 23 people involved with one succession game or another right now. However, new people keep popping in all the time. I'm sure you'll pick up a few who are interested. Or perhaps a few who want to play both.

In the meantime if you want to join Game Three in progress you are welcome to. (Impossible really isn't that hard with CTP2 - it's like playing Warlord level on Civ2).

Since our current game is so big (and boring frankly), I don't see why I couldn't play two at once

What civ, and settings were you thinking about playing then?

secession game?
Hi guys: I was just woundering what is a secession game? is it just multiplayer? I've never played multiplayer as i could never get it to work.
Just how does multiplayer work? is it turn based? do i have my own civ? or do I control game peaces with another player?
If it's only me then do I have a color with my civ?

A succession game is where a player has a game of 10 or more turns, saves the game file, and passes it on to the next player by e-mail.The player is expected to make a report of what has happened on the CTP2 forums. These succession game reports have often made me laugh out loud, and they seem like good fun. I'm playing an SG soon I hope..........

OmniGod and Gazablanca;

You are welcome to join Game three in progress right now.
It's currently at about 200AD, and we're playing on Impossible, Max Barbs, and Gigantic mostly-island Map.

Hi everyone,

My first post but have been secretly reading your posts for 3 days while I waited to get my account activated. hehe

Thanks to moondog for asking all the questions about succesion games. I too have wonder what you all were doing and laughed many times reading your game diaries. Hope to join one soon!

But for now I should learn the game I have only owned it 5 days and still a baby beginner. Umm what to do about pollution? I keep moving my population to entertainers and scientist and off laborers but it seems my mayors are rouges what do I do?????

Thanks

Mercatia

Build improvements or wonders that reduce pollution : recycling plant, fusion plant, nuclear plant (?), matter decompiler, Central Matter Decompiler (wonder), or the Eden Project (carefully).

I would suggest, at very least early on, not to use mayors at all, this gives you a lot more control, and more involvement with the game. (Isn't there a mayor setting to concentrate on reducing pollution?)

pollution
Thanks for your advice wombat!

I did end up firing all my mayors! They were against me I swear.
Besides the pollution factor all they want to build is marines.

The map I am playing is basically 5 islands. Marines are cool but I need ships!

And no there is no "pollution reducing" orders for the mayors.

I love The Central Matter Decompiler!! I was getting killed by pollution then baammm its half gone!

I just actually finished my first CTP2 Game! After playing for over six months, I just couldn't bother going on after modern age.
And I want some kick-ass futuristic bombers not these stupid stealth bombers!

Finished with the sci-fi victory in the end.
I had a science treaty thing with the americans who were tiny 5 cities. And they were the only ones who kept up with me in science but it was OK they gave me their techs for free and I was selling techs everyone else for $30,000!

Finished around 2080 AD. I know but it was on Very-hard, I know that makes it worse. But it was on all islands and all oceans so it was impossible in its own way.

Why oh Why can ships move infinitely down sea tunnels

I'd like to join the SG game, since I've got time. Finished summer exams today!!!!
