X-Wing Collectors Edition
I''ve almost decided to go out and get the X-Wing Collectors edition, because i"m in the mood for a space civ, never beat the original X-Wing and would like to play the later sims.
However, I've got a question with regards to game speed. I've tried playing older games on newer computers and been shut out as the game just runs too fast.
I have a P2-400, 128mb RAM. Admittedly not much, but when compared to the older games like X-Wing and Tie Fighter, will it be too much? Or did Lucasarts change the game speeds to account for faster computers?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Well I got the Collectors CD-edition of X-Wing (from 1991 i think), and that one is running fine on my 400 mhz comp. So no problems for you!!! Enjoy!

God, I love this game! X-Wing was the reason I wanted to get a PC when I was in high school.
I tried to install on my new 1Ghz machine and it failed startup. Didn't put much effort into it, so I'll try again tonight and let you know.

X-wing. Hell yeah! That game was the ****! I played that over and over again in primary school. The collectors CD is very good too, over the disc version, since it has new graphics and extra missions, as well as voice overs.
However, the best of the very best is the Tie-Fighter Collectors CD. Ooooh (gizzes pants), I loved that game. Any one feel the same?

I never played Tie Fighter, but I heard it is awesome. Sounds like I need to make a trip to Best Buy.
I actually belonged to an X-Wing internet group (forgot the name). We were all a part of fleets/squadrons and would build and fly missions against other squadrons. There was a ranking system and medals, etc. I got out when I found out our new squad leader cheated in a competition against one of the Tie-Fighter clubs.
I've never played X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter either. Is that still worth having?
