I don't consider myself one of the best players here, but I'll play if nobody else is interested.

Sorry, Paul, I just can't forget your spectacularly poor performance in ACT035. You can always redeem yourself in my eyes in another tournament game, but until next time...

Ouch! Well, I guess the position is still open. I might as well apply.
My previous SMAC gaming experience involves a small handfull of stalled out games as well as one completion (my first PBEM game) where Mark13 and I were squished by Misotu and (and I forget who -- I think their name started with a B, but could be wrong. I'd have to check the tournament thread. ACT031 if I remember correctly). I'm currently involved in about five or six games where I believe my "skills" have developed quite nicely. Admittedly, I haven't had much human vs. human combat experience besides the stomping I mentioned previously -- I guess I'm jsut a builder at heart.
Am I the best? Probably not.
Can I give those weasely ACOLer's and Civ gamers a run for their money? I think so.
My extra cirucular scholastic activies include being a member of my elementary schools stamp club and being voted most artistic in high school.
Maybe applicants should submit save game files for the council to further review?

DD:
Have you asked Flo and/or Viriato if they would like to partner with you. It seems both of their recent performances in the tourney would indicate they would be great. I think Viriato is a good momentum player, and Flo is great all around, I think.

WE - that was ACT021, where Mis and Garth cleaned up, due to my complete incompetence when it came to dealing with them. It was in no way your fault - it was my first PBEM. Well, that's my excuse anyway

Well, it looks like Flo, the current Apolyton PBEM Champ, will be teaming up with the very experienced DiDad to form the third Apolyton team - and what a team that is! Great news, and thanks guys
PS Mark/WE, now you know that Garth and I were very lucky to win that one - I don't think either of you would let us get away with that again

Well, it's settled then, good luck gang.
Mark -- I wouldn't take all the blame for ACT021. Besides it looks like we might get a chance to exact revenge on that mean ole Misotu in the Builder-Momentum team game.
"I'll get you next time Gaget (Misotu)"
What ever happend to Garth Vader anyway?
Edit: Doh! To answer my own stupid question, I see that rascal Garth is teamed with Misotu in the B-M! Ah... the revenge will be so much sweeter!
