Help with scenarios.......

Hey guys, i have Civ2: Multiplayer. Ive just downloaded patch 2.42, cause that what i seem to need to play the senarios here, Cause it says...requirements: 2.42...... is that right? Anyway i downloaded and it said "cannot find SMEDSNET.DLL"......whatever the hell that is!

Ah, no you don´t need the V2.42 patch if you have MGE, this patch is for the "old" civ2 (the first version

). I think MGE is in fact the last version (not sure here), and you should be able to play all scenarios (except for ToT of course) under MGE. So if you already installed the v2.42 patch, reinstall MGE...

BeBro is correct in everything he says. I just wanted to add that Version 2.42, which is the final patched version of the original CIV II, is incapable of playing customized scenarios. By customized scenarios, I mean those which reside in their own directory and have their own rules and graphics files.
