Scenario Preview: Sword Point
Thanks for all the help with the game crashing i fixed it and now i can bring you a preview which i was intending to do anyway.
As F-14 Tomcats, F-15E Eagles and F-16 Falcons launched from the USS Lincoln Pound the Defenses Near Bandare Abbas in southern Iran, the USMC and the US Army with token British Support send in their forces to establish a beachead. Will the Iranian Forces already embroiled in a war on two fronts against Iraq and The USSR be able to cope with this third front? Only time will tell

I see a nifty MRLS unit there. Why are there not more roads? I know it's not the most developed place, but what scale is the map, I think there should be more road...

For those wondering about the cities. Here they are. This is quite a large scale of map so the cities are spread out rather a lot. Also some areas of iran arnt exactly the most poulated places on earth.
Anyway

Countries?
Is Syria, Turkey, Jordan or Pakistan featured in the scenario-looking at the map there is plenty room for these scenario-relevent nations to be placed into.

I was thinking of including syria as a Barbarian Civ but the others wont be in this scen because it is based on a book and they pay no part in it thus no reason to include them

well... there's historical accuracy, you could give them all units with move=0 stats, and then ally them with everyone to prevent them from doing anything.
If you could spare the civ slots, anyway.

Last post here for now...
I must tell you that the terms for Kuwait are Kuwait/Kuwaiti. Kuwaiti is the term that should be used not 'Kuwait' Map. Thats all I can find incorrect with it at the moment.

well as long as your offering jimmywax ill take you up on the offer
I could really do with:
a ZSU-23-4AA (or ZSU for short lol)
a T-80 seeing as i dont think there is a T-80 out there yet. At the mo im using a recoloured T-72 which really isnt what i want to do
Thats about it i think i have scrounged just about all your units lol
Dont worry youll get credits in the readme

Yes, it is.
And since you`re here, do you think you could draw me a Jaguar and an E-2 Hawkeye?

Looks great.
Is this in any way related to the book "Sword Point" (Harold Coyle I think?).

Good news, I found it in one of my books. So now I know what it is and I have pictures to prove it.
PH, a leopard and Hawkeye uh? I don't know, maybe just this once. Which leopard do you want? I think there are a couple different versions right?

Just out of curiosity, what is the unit in the above preview. It is on the far right in the middle, north of the airfield, west of Mazar.

Not a Leopard, a Jaguar. It`s a ground attack plane (I believe) used mainly by the British and the French. You don`t have to do them if you don`t feel up to it at the moment, so don`t feel under any pressure.

Excellent News a FAN!!! lol
Yes ravagon you are right it is based exclusively on the book "Sword Point" and you are right about the author. Of course i will edit a few little bits to get the playability right but otherwise it will be as faithful to the book as i can.
Jimmywax the unit is a T-64BV however if you have a better one that will do lol. But its a T-64.
Jimmywax i look forward to hearing when you have the units ready
Now off to do more revision!

Grothgar, from what I remember of the book, an American Aircraft Carrier gets sunk, sparking outright war between the US and USSR. As a result, you might be interesed in using this photo for the scenarios title
(BTW, its an actual photo of a major deck fire on the USS Enterprise)
