Dumb question, Mark: What are you trying to say??? The adress isn't working, and...

Well, sigames.com is home to a soccer-involved business. I think that he means sidgames.com, don't you? Unfortunately, sidgames refuses to let me view it. What's up, Mark?

Occaisionally a soccer riot turns into a full-blown war. In the USA rioting breaks out when a city's team wins a championship. Is this a call for sports-related unhappiness and unrest in Civ III?

ok, here are two hints: a phrase and a word
the phrase: sigames.com is the official site for the championship manager series by the games development company named sigames.
the word: compare

I remember a while back in a column there was mentioning of the championship manager series.
Maybe this is MarkG's way of keeping us busy while we wait for a Firaxis update.

Maybe if I could view the sidgames website, I'd tell you. Maybe the answer's that they both have crappy bandwidth. Sidgames is the winner, though. I've been trying it off and on for a day, and it hasn't once loaded.

Honestly, what does this have to do with Civ? And why the secrecy? What, do they have a CivIII beta hidden somewhere? I wish.

Well, I for one know what MarkG is talking about. The Championship Manager series are awesome games, and they have an awesome official site: sigames.com. Just like Civ3 should have. Lots of features, downloads, updates, a great forum with lots of members, etc.
But, if you think about it, isn't it better for Apolyton the way it is now? If Firaxis decided to runa forum and take care of the Civ community, Apolyton could lose some posters, and certainly would miss lots of newbies...
Discuss.

Well, IMHO Firaxis has been unable to manage a good forum: it's hot water for them, so they must stay away.
About News, Downloads, Updates... they are the must have of every software related corporate site.
Firaxis is currently proving very bad in site developing and content maintenance, IMO. They have nothing to tell / show to us, also after a main show (E3) and all the media "first served" already gone to press. Unbelieveble!
Of course they have a good point: if game proved very pointless during early test, as Dino did, they didn't throw away too much effort into a useless CIV 3 site management

Yes, I know. The Dugout, FE, seems to have a lot of traffic, possibly as much as sigames.com itself. But the official site is still the better one out there, regarding design and contents.
Another good thing about CM3 is that the game contains a directory of fan sites, which, for some reason, I doubt Firaxis will include in Civ3.
