Setting Up IP Games XXX
Ok, the last one was getting large enough and hasn't been posted to in 3 days. So it's a good time to start another.
The real clever people will notice that I skipped 29. Damn public education, I couldn't remember if 29 was XXVIIII or XXIX. I've seen both used and decided to declare my ignorance instead of leaving it up for debate. So we move to 30.
The other reason I used XXX because I wanted to make it memorable for myself. I will use this thread for my countdown to emperor. I'm less than 20 posts away. And it would only be appropriate that my 3000th (XXX x 100, get it) post appears in on of these threads since probably 25% of my 3000 have been in numbers I-XXX. I'd like to thank everyone that has joined in the fun in these threads and shared a game or more with me. It has defined the true spirit of Apolyton.
I'm sure I'll miss someone but I'll try and apologize later.
The beauty of being an old man is that you're allowed to forget.
In fact if your name is left off, post here, and I'll come back and add it to the list (or if I mispell it).
ARII
BARONO (glad you joined in on the fun)
Beefhawk
BERZERKER (always fun, especially when you get on a war roll)
BIZZARO
BIRD (always good to the ole reliables)
BOANN
Bolo
BROCHER
CARNIDE
CAROLUS REX
CORNMASTER
DANGIME
DARKSTORM
DDP
DEITY
EASTHAVEN
EMPRESS
EPIK
HYDEY
JOHN B. (kicked my ass)
JEDISCUM
KENT-JO
MAKEO
MARKUS
MATT and Linda (another of the originals)
Maud'Dib
Mercator
Milo
MING (thanks bro)
MWHC (miss your rants in games)
OEDO
PAUL
Sergent Sheets
SMARTFART
SMASH
SUPERSNEAK
Tazidude (rest his soul)
Toadkiller
WAR4EVER (ranks as my favorite comp)
XIN YU (discovery is fun)
ZYLKA
I think that's most of you, but It's been so long, I'm sure I forgot a few that stopped playing years ago. REMEMBER I'm entitled to a "senior moment" so BE NICE.
I'll be looking this weekend.

Edited to add names.

Yes, I'm sure of that.
While the boys from across the pond and down under are underepresented, I was able to enjoy contests with some of them. Who needs sleep.

Way to go RAH
Shoulda skip settlers escorting for initial eight cities. It definitelly worth the risk, unless you lose your capital like i did
Looking forward for more games.

The Beavers have more respect for the Ferrets than any other. Rich its been most fun to play with you and as always i am thankfull that both you and Ming took me into the fold when i came to Apolyton.
I have learned alot playing with you guyz.......
Win or lose, your a class act......
Any yes i will be around this weekend..... perhaps we could do a two night special. I don't want to alienate anyone , but perhaps being the long weekend and all we could use the same people on both friday and saturday.
If this is possible then we could play through. Strategies are alot different when you know the game will be continued

SF, when you play on the tiny dirt worlds that we normally do, I'll escort after the first four cities. I lose fewer settlers/cities that way. Paranoia yes, but we play with a lot of aggressive players. War and berz eat them for breakfast.
War4, (tips hat) some student....quickly became the master.
Yes I would like to do a 2 night game. Let's see who we can get. I'll just have to remember to bring the game back from ming's
I've played with a lot of really good players, some better on some settings some better on others. It's the best way to learn new things. But everyone knows which setting I like.

I just have to remember to copy to disk and bring home. But you can save, just in case, since we've usually had a few beers by then

Ming as we speak i am marching a force of 80,000 chanting mongol horsemen towards any dirt field of your choice. My war council tells me we should be ready to go 630 CST or 430 PST

Well equally old Ming,
Please help a fellow senior remember so I can add them to the list.
Or is your memory equally faulty.

Well since I just had to respond to a few things in the CIV III forum.......
3000
And unlike a recent Deity, over 90 % of my posts had content
j/k AH, maybe.
Ok back to normal
Pretty crappy celebration if you ask me.
Too bad I have golf tonight, or I'd join you guys.

Congratulations Rah... It's about time. As one of the very early posters to this site, I'm surprised it took you this long... Well, considering you don't post meaningless one and two word replies in the OTF, maybe I shouldn't be surprised
Too bad about you ALWAYS playing golf on Tuesdays (envy)... you will be missed tonight.
Anybody else up for a game tonight?

Cool! Congrats, Rah.
Quite an honor to be on "the list" as I spend most of those games hunkered down and trying not to be too conspicuous, with War circling my civ like a hungry shark and you expanding exponentially out of sight.
Can't play tonight...impending birth drives home the fact that the nursery/home is not even close to being finished yet....and Ms. Sneak is worthless/wiped out anymore.
Yikes!

OK, since war4 mentioned continueing a game, let's try to do that this weekend.
I will commit to Friday and Saturday.
Just talked to Barono and he will commit to Friday and Saturday
Can War4 commit to Friday and Saturday?
Will one other fast player commit to Friday and Saturday.
I expect our normal rules/setting will be used.
Times, On Friday, since Barono doesn't get home from work till 7:45 central, we would be looking to start around 8 central. For Saturday night we could probably start an hour earlier.

Don't worry, Ming won't be playing.
The sessions shouldn't be more than a few minutes short. Let's hope for a fourth.
While the regulars have pref. please list any desire.
