I actually started out in planned as soon as I got the tech, switching to Market sometime around 2130. I found that being in planned for a while lets you churn your pods out that much quicker - and with only 24 credits per SE change, you can pretty much change at will. Wealth was added as soon as I got IndAuto (around 2112, I think)
Democracy was installed about the time of my first pop boom (just after Tree Farms) - support costs had made it impractical before then. I decided I could do without the morale hit later on, so I switched from Wealth to Knowledge around 2160 - having the HSA, probes weren't really an issue, apart from stealing tech.
Anyway, now up to 2201 - ETA @ transcendence, sometime around 2215, I'd guess.

Ooof! Just finished the rather comprehensive readme documents. I found that the year 2250 works best for gameplay reasons, and the new senario will be called SMAC Down: 2250 to reflect this.
All that's left is to make a non-X version, and prepare an altered set of readmes for it, as well. Almost... there...
BTW, it's now officially my birthday! Consider this a reverse birthday present

Just ran another simulation... Wow! The AI is going to be one tough customer...
I watched a protracted battle between Yang and Lal (who, by the way, aren't even neighboors). The scale was enormous. Between the two of them, every tile on that part of the continent had a milatary unit on it, and many had two or more. Moreover, Yang was having to march across the giant fungal forest to get to Lal, so there was a small horde of riled alien units also in the fray. It was fascinating to watch.
It all ended when Santaigo nuked the whole region into little glowing bits. Everyone else declared war on her. Soon thereafter, Miriam nuked Santaigo, so everyone declared war on her, too!
Lal and Morgan were dead by now, and I wasn't doing anything as the University (I placed my pod on an island and 'H'eld it there), so only the Gaians were left, and everyone was at war with everyone else. Maybe I''ll turn the "commit atrocities wantonly" flag off on the bad guys.

It's ready. Go to the new thread at the Creation Forum . That will be the place to discuss the new version.
Thanks all!

So, has anyone finished this scenario yet?
I'm playing at the moment, and enjoying it immensely
I have a couple of questions though - is the difficulty level supposed to be transcend? I had it come up as thinker or librarian the first time I loaded it, not sure which, but SE changes were only costing 24 credits. I reloaded to force transcend.
Also, I thought I remembered reading that there are no random events in the readme blurb, but I got hit by sunspots I carried on anyway, but I was just wondering whether the random events were intentional or whether something weird has happened at my end?

Misotu, did you use the latest version from over at the Creation threads? There a couple wins posted over there as well in 'Smacdown 2250'

No ... I didn't realise the latest version of both games was posted over there. I'll check it out, thanks

Well, maybe it's me but I can only see downloads for the second scenario, SmacDown 2250 (or 2252 or whatever). I'm playing the original SmacDown, not the new version.

I think the "original" was just the beta for smacDown 2250.
