Be kind with Yin!
Lot of people rant at his posts, now rant because he suspended to post for a week
He's a brave man, suffering in silence for missing info, without the safe valve to post anymore about bad developers attitude...
I'm going to leave this forum from tomorrow night for two weeks, but that's because I'm going on vacation, far from Internet access point
Oh my God, I'm already gasping because you will miss to me

July 20, 2001 at 12:00 a.m. there was a report that a man who lives Korea, who previously used to live in the states, went so crazy that he committed suicide because he was so overwhelmed with the joy of being able to post on the Apolyton Civ3 fourm. The funny thing is we never see a post from Yin again. I wonder who that guy was who killed himself.

I made it! There's only one thing more horrible than posting here all the time: READING this stuff and NOT posting. Some of you guys almost got me to post, but I used the Force. The one I almost posted, though, was about were to upload the scan of the Civ material mentioned in the other thread. I almost posted on reflex: Send it to Markos...he'll archive anything!

Am I really a pain in the neck for you?
And I was proud to be a kind boy here at Apolyton, if not for some occasional bad mood
My apologize LightEning...
Edited: Ok, Yin is back, all nice and well, but where the @&%$ is Dan Mahaga and his new site?

Well:
1. He won't reply at all.
2. One month before the release date. Whenever that may be...

O.K. You realize, of course, he'll likely go against whatever I post just to try to disprove my prophetic powers, but here it goes:
1. Never.
2. Mid/Late-August.

you guys probably realise of course that if they are actually going for an october release and they have plans for a site related to the multiplayer features of the game, then Dan has LOTS of work
in the very end, he didnt have time to visit the forums for some two weeks and you expect him to have time to put any kind of notice in the site about what's going on?

I think Apolyton isn't really that important to Firaxis.
Only about 1% of their customers come here (and that's pherhaps already a little bit overdone)

I disagree with you, Cybershy. Otherwise neither their webmaster would "spy" on us, nor their programers would care!
And we both know they have posted several times.
Dan used to surf the boards a lot! And I perfectly accept that Firaxis is flooded with work, because they want to "give" us the game before christmas, and that means working 3 shifts of 8 hours/day!
But what the heck is reserved for www.civ3.com is something I would like to know...

Are you saying we represent 18% of Firaxis' customers and they are ignoring us? I guess they know that we will buy the game no matter how badly they treat us. They are the dealers and we are the crack ho's, I suppose.

i dont think they are ignoring us. it's far more probable that they have a pr plan on how much information to publicise and at what rate until the release. and if the release was scheduled for october and now it has been pushed back 4-5 months, we're simple into a "hole" of the pr plan....

O.K. first of all my predictions:
1. never
2. some update in early August, Civ3.com sometime in early October
Look if the game is coming out in October there pr should be rolling. Yeah they have had an ad, one ad. So what
I think the longer we go without an update the more likely this is going to come out in the spring. If no update by August 3, I will not even consider Civ 3 before Christmas.

1. I think Dan will post. Might not be in this thread, but he will tell us when civ3.com is ready and open to the public.
2. September.
The ad on the game magazine is from september. Wich means that in mid october there might be a delay for some more months, but since the release date was only sheduled for October (and published only on september )the majority of the world won't mind for a delay!
