You're misinformed, Eyes. I didn't play a game with Maximus last night.
I haven't seen Maximus lately.

And quit complaining. You know you like the press.

OK, I've read all the posts to this point...

Yes,manipulating your hardware to make multiple irrigations turns seems to me to be cheating. I don't see a lot of wiggle room in doing that and staying honest. Anything that purposefully defeats the software is not honest.

The explorer thing is entirely different. Its an inspired recognition of the capabilities of a specific unit. Eyes merely saw that the explorer movement in a 2x2x game could be really awesome, so he figured out the likeliest way to get one as early as possible. That's not cheating. I didn't occur to me, but that's not his fault.

Has no one ever used a helicopter just to explore?

Helicopter was just an example for the purpose of analogy. I've used nukes and missles too. But I wanted something that could actually occupy a city and not just blow up.

I'm not surprised at all. When you deliberately post to admit cheating, and then make sure to keep the pot stirred with some well-timed insults, it is sort of like putting a bug-zapper in a swamp and then pretending surprise at all the dead insects.

LOL!

Yes, it doesn't take much for the scavangers to start circling.

You might as well admit it like I do. Eyes is great entertainment.

This place can get dull when he's not around.

300 huh, it will be double in the morning.

Thanks, as always Eyes.

Rich

Most people don't bother taking 20 minutes to stare at the opening position and the demos to find out where their opponents are. They use that time to pop a save into a nearby computer and just look. (which is why we avoid playing with people that take 10 minutes on the opening turn, and you know who you are)

First of all I don't take 10min to move in the first turn. I doubt you could notice any amount of difference. Arii is just being a moron for which he will get flamed for the rest of his life. I can't help it he just plain sucks at this game.

let me get this straight eyes, you remember every game you play. you remember settings, civs and tech routes....

explain to me who the f*ck you were talking to "the other night" about slowwhand quitting because i bribed his city. i haven't played a MP game in a month, and haven't played sloww in almost a year. you are so full of yourself, you actually believe your own lies.

yes, i have sent you files in the past, to look at to determine cheating, no big deal. i remember one time i sent you saves of a game with Kuja, and your response, before even looking at the saves was "damn it, i'll drum him out of gameleague for cheating again". not an exact quote, i can look at my ICQ log to get the exact wording if you like.

you are the worst kind of cheater eyes, the kind that can cover his/her tracks.

edited rules.txt====unproveable
custom map in tribe game=====unproveable
mapping the board====unproveable
triangulating positions=====unproveable

among other cheats that haven't been "publicized"

one question still remains eyes.....

who is/was Kuja?

EDITED FOR BAD GRAMMER DUE TO HASTE AND BEING PISSED AT DORKBOY.

He must be psychic
God you people are trusting souls - in one game I watched his horse make a beeline for my capital from about 3 or 4 turns out.

It was uncanny

Thank you, Maximus.
I have nothing more to say on the subject.

Eyes has already admitted cheating
And the thread is archived.

That makes ALL his boasting vain.

I thought it was you, maybe not. Somebody sent me a really long message saying "here's a little tidbit for you". I wasn't really paying attention to it and they're not on my list so I don't have the message history. And actually you sent me saves of hatchett that you thought he was cheating. Pretty funny considering his record and all.

"edited rules.txt====unproveable

Rules is proveable moron. Custom map is not even cheating you stupid ****. Mapping the board? What the hell is that? Triangulating positions? By that do you mean using demographics and what city you're near? Because that's not cheating either you stupid ****. Lets see here....Sloww is an ex drug user and General Maximus is a carpenter who is now unemployed. I can see I'm dealing with the top level of society here. Must be something about Tuathaa, it attracts lower IQ's.

That was my point exactly. That there are lots of legitimate reasons for wanting to know and understand the various cheats/loopholes. And that just because someone is knowledgable about cheating methods - it doesn't mean they use them. I was using you as an example of this because from what I can tell your reputation is spotless yet you wrote an extensive paper on it. I thought that was clear but if you took it another way I apologize.

Eyes,
Tacky, tacky.
Carpentry is a skill, and unemployed is bad luck.

Deitydude, spotless rep? Ahem, no.
One day maybe, but not up to and including today.

He was talking about Ming you moron. And anything with me is fair game sloww, you should have learned that by now. Next time don't bleed your heart to the wolf unless you're sure he's tame. Since you don't seem to respond to my usual intelligent comments, it appears I'm going to have to continue to get more personal. I can take it, can you? HAHAHA!!!!

I was referring to Ming as the person with the spotless rep. My point was that knowledge of cheating doesn't convict you of being a cheater and that there should be more proof than that. Neither does having an explorer taking an unguarded capital in 3450b.c. Thats all I was trying to say.

Now I wished I never said anything.

Its bad enough defending Eyes but now everyone misunderstood what I said.

No need to apologize... I knew exactly what you were trying to say, so thanks for the compliment.
I just was giving my reasons for wanting to compile such a list.
Plus, with any kind of luck, the designers of CivIII read it (they claimed they liked it) and will try to keep many of them from happening in CivIII.

since when am i an unemployed carpenter? Moker is a carpenter, i am not.

i am an ASE certified a/c and electrical systems diesel mechanic. i finished my training recently and now have more work than i can really handle.

back on topic idiot, you claim to know everything and everyone, and everything about everyone. now your not sure who you were talking to? the saves of hatchett showed no huts in the area, and a settler and a new city at 3950bc, with a one settler start. i wasn't aware of the effect of lag on saves.

you really talk out your ass sometimes, but i think you just want to see how much **** you can stir up here.

and a custom map is cheating if your opponents don't know the specifics, kinda like the rules.txt editing. in itself, editing the rules isn't cheating, if you opponents know about it. how many times have you seen a game advertised on the zone with "dips cost 50".
the host editied his rules, and told everyone.

mapping the board is loading the map on another computer while playing...

you worst than dog****.

and who the hell is/was Kuja?

I don't quite follow your bleeding heart comment, which is fine.
Evidently it's in reponse to carpenter work and unemployment,
neither of which have I ever spoken with you on at any time.

As far as the spotless reputation, I said what I meant.

Tell more ways you cheat.
That's what the thread was to be about, right ?

I think a little chill is in order for everybody... While mild flaming can be expected as part of the normal chest thumping...
THIS HAS CROSSED THE LINE MANY TIMES...

Let's stop the personal attacks NOW! I'm starting to think that this is an OTF thread

Perhaps you should move it to Off topic as it has nothing to do with MP civ games and lots to do with who calls there Uncle Dad.

Some of you guys need to add a branch to your straight line family trees.
