They would of course have to adhere to our rules of not being overly optimistic and blindly follwing Sid!! I wonder if something is up? You can almost feel the excitement in the air, I mean in the fiber optics!

I just got an email from Jeff,
he asked me to not quote him, thus I won't quote him.
Anyway, I've decided that from now on our club will focus
on Civilization III, and write realistic review or previews about it
if we can. Collect information and all that.
I suggest we won't focus on the pessimistic club anymore.
Let them have fun in their way.
I won't reply to pessimistic club stuff as well, since I don't think a battle is needed or realistic. Let's just try to collect as much as possible information about Civ3 !
good luck to all of us !

Motto
I really like the one that says "If you can't solve it then it's not a problem, it's reality" That would fit our purpose perfectly, you know, I mean if it can't be fixed by Firaxis then what's the point in whining over it! Anyway, somebody should do a poll about this, see what everybody thinks!! How about it CyberShy?
Edit: That's a good idea LaRusso!! I wonder if anybody else has thought of using Apolyton as a dating service!!

Personally I like the one by Epictitus. It's confusing, but absolutely true. Well anyway I've made it my personal sig now.

A club of realists can only be a bad thing.
I must inform the FBI immediately.

Recurve is right! A club of realists would be just the thing to take over the federal government with! I mean who better to expose all of thier lies for what they really are! My first decision as a new member of the cabinet would be to implement a rule stating that everyone must play a least two hours of CIV per day! that would make the world a much better place!!

I think their morale'd be like -6, 'cuz they'd think that they'd lost the game before even starting it... that is, if they are TRUE pessimists...

I think I'll join your club, as an optimistic realist.
I'm in as long as I can leave at any time, if your philosophy is wrong for me.

Urban: Nostalgy, just nostalgy .
Rhuarc: Yes. It ended up in a pregnancy, break-up and huge amounts of emotional pain.
Everybody: Faction stats for the realists, hmm...
+1 Planet - Well aware of their surroundings
+2 Research - Try to uncover more things (could be said better )
-2 Support - Are not particularly fond of waging war (and dying in it anyway)
Aversion: Fundy - of course!

I think I am a mixture of an optimist who is being literal while I am slightly pessimistic. You would be able to tell from my last post in "The Official Apolyton Pessimistic Civers Club (OfAPeCiClu): Now Accepting Applicants!". I figured since Grumbold made his own new club that is a combination of things so can I. So I here by renounce my membership to the Official Apolyton Pessimistic Civers Club (OfAPeCiClu) (sorry Yin). Now make my own official club The Critically Literal Optimist Association (TCLOA). I will be accepting any new applicants in my new thread I will be creating. Thank you.

15 members
Congrats, we have 15 members now,
and that makes us the biggest civers club on Apolyton !
Let's celebrate !
Now we must chose a motto,
every member can vote in reply to this.
(If non-members reply and vote I concider that to be an application)
A. Realism beats blind optimism and blatant pessimism !
B. Shining the light of realism on civilizations III
C. Please put Civ3.com online before we dissolve!
D. Please put Civ3.com online so to help the dissolution of Yin's club!
E. Reality isn't the way you wish things to be, nor the way they appear to be, but the way they actually are.
F. Too many people miss the silver lining because they're expecting gold
G. If you can't solve it, it's not a problem--it's reality
H. Let us take things as we find them: let us not attempt to distort them into what they are not.... We cannot make facts. All our wishing cannot change them. We must use them
I. The permanent temptation of life is to confuse dreams with reality. The permanent defeat of life comes when dreams are surrendered to reality
J. A thing either is what it appears to be; or it is not, but yet appears to be; or it is, but does not appear to be; or it is not, and does not appear to be
K. You're either part of the solution or part of the problem
I'll leave this weekend,
LaRusso will lead the club these two days, and especially when the news from Firaxis arives !
I'm sure we realists will shine a realistic light on this news and we won't overhype it in any positive or negative way.
But hey, if it's good news I'm sure we should be happy !

I wouldn't be surprised if your whole club dissolved by the time you got back, with LaRusso running the show. No, I'm just joking with you.

Yes, civ3.com diffently needs to be put up. I don't think you should be targeting to take out another club. You should be more intent on helping Civ3 than destroying a club. That's my opinion, though. You can run your club however you want.
Well I'm not a part of "your solution" (I have my own solution) but I do know that I'm not a part of the "problem".
