It has been a looooooong time since I played Civ2. My husband and I were just playing a LAN TOT game, cooperatively against the computer because I didn't want to have to beat him too badly
. We were both on future techs, had an alliance and both had gobs of money. I had an army of about 30 armors on the way to terrorize the Chinese. All of a sudden my screen changed to like a wonder movie, and I got some text about Unified Field Theory, and 'You have won the game!' He got the same message.
I didn't know that could happen. I never have played much TOT. Was this just because we were an alliance and were so far ahead of the pathetic computer? Would it have happened to only one of us if we weren't allied? Is there a formula that you can predict when it will happen, so you can delay it if you want to? I really wanted to beat up the Chinese a little!
