MY 2126 sent to Tai Mai Shu.
In REAL LIFE our thoughts are definitely with you guys over the pond. Terrible tragedy.

I sent it as indicated my message (Above) if Tai Mai Shu is indeed in NYC, then perhaps he has a lot on his plate at the moment.

It's been a while.
Last post indicated that Tai Mai Shu (a probable fictional pseudonym (apologies of I am wrong)) has the turn. Obviously if he is actually in NYC, as indicated in his profile, then I think we should suspend the game. Similarly if you other guys were involved in the tragedy I fully understand the triviality of the game compared to events of last week, and recommend cancellation (not least because I'm in a crap position).
Anyone know anything about circumstances of all players? Why not let each other know?
I really am in the UK. Apart from being shocked, and to say it very lightly, disturbed by the events of last week I am OK.
How about the rest of you guys?
All the very best
ColDark

I agree about suspending the game for the time being.
I live in Ohio, but I did have friends and family in NYC at the time of the tradegy, but the all seem to be OK. I have one friend I cannot get ahold of, but I don't think he'd be at the WTC at that time of day.
I feel like crap now, I didn't realize his profile said he lived in NYC.

Yeah. I just checked other posting by TMS. He was still posting on 11th and 12th. And does apparently live in NYC. In another of his posting he says that he and his family are all OK. Hope that is still the case.
But I'm still up for suspending.
Cheers

Hi guys, I'm doing better than I could be considering I have close ties in both DC and NYC. Nobody close to me was a direct victim as far as I know, but will possibly turn out to have some indirect connections and definitely know some friends and relatives who are emotionally impacted. I'm not sure where my own equilibrium will end up, but it looks like sadness and anger are going to be components. Chances are that Michael (TMS) has gotten wrapped up in it somehow, maybe in a delayed reaction or something. I might find that the distraction of playing the game could be helpful, but obviously it's secondary to any of the serious stuff that's going on.
ColDark, thanks also for your concerns; may I offer mine in return for the many UK victims.

ColDark, Trevlix:
If you guys are up for a game while we wait for TMS, I have a suggestion.
A three person game where we each take 2 factions (adjacent in turn order), leaving the 7th as an AI faction. Adjacent so that the game will move faster; two factions to make it more interesting. I would propose that it will only be necessary to devise a connection, however rediculous, that links the two as a rationale for them being allies. I don't know if you both have SMAX, so if you don't or if we decide to play SMAC, it will only be a matter picking who is which factions. I believe that the order is Gaia, Hive, University, Morgan, Sparta, Believers, Peacekeepers (I would think that around the corner - Gaia-PK - is OK too). So if you are interested, one of you just pick two adjacent, then the other of you pick the two on either side, and I'll take any two of the last 3. If you want to play SMAX, it will be more flexible but that is a two edged sword.
Let me know if you are interested.
John

OK.
Perhaps the choices should be a builder and a momentum each, and while keeping it in turn order I suggest...
Hive / University
Morgan / Sparta
Believers / Peacekeepers or Peacekeepers / Gaian
Anyway. I'm indifferent as to which I get.
Cheers
Colin

It is fine with me; in fact all three combos seem attractive.
Is Transcend OK? Standard PBEM rules?
If so, just pick a team (or pass and take what's left).

I would like to have a go at Morgan and Sparta. Standard PBEM rules are OK with me.
Won't be able to take a turn tonight though, but tomorrow will be fine.
Cheers

Guys:
I created a new thread: 3 by 2 - Builder Momentum Combos Turns for this game.
Trevlix, you get to go first (with the Gaians only, PKs come last). It seems to make sense for you to set up the game, but if it is inconvenient for you to do that at present, I don't mind doing it instead and mailing it to you, just let me know. I assume that we'd be doing something like Large Random with Average whatevers & Directed research, but if you set it up, it can be your choice on all of that stuff, just post the setup so we'll know. See you on the other thread.
J
To TMS:
Whenever you want to resume this game, just let us know; meanwhile, just keep on hanging in there with our best wishes.
John

Hey guys,
I'm sorry its taking me so long to send in my latest turn. I've had some personal emergencies lately that have had to take precedence over everything else. I should be able to post tonight.
