Games of unrealized potential
And I'm speaking of course, of Panty Raider. Man what a game that could have been.

Or for those of an 'opposite inclination', Arse Raider would have gone down well, so to speak

I think EU falls under this category, 1 more month of debugging and rethinking could have made this game much better. Opposing Force was awesome, but could have been more. If Age of Wonders had a random map generator, I would never stop playing it. If Startopia would let me pause I could actually manage the action!!!

Shadow President isn't bad, but there are better games out there. Another game, Ashes of Empire has a great premise, but everything else was foobared.

Hmmm, I kinda liked Lords of the Rear. And of course there is always that all-time classic, Magic: The Feathering. Excellent strategy game. Btw, has anybody ever played Sim Pity, where you start with a large city and see it die out piece by piece?

Practically every game ever made
The Corporate Machine which is an excellent game, but I wished they had added a financing model, similar to railroad tycoons. Then it would have been superb. I just bought the game so maybe there is one which I've missed.
Sea Dogs -- the game took Pirates! in the right direction but I wish they had increased interaction, I want to bang the sheriff's wife consequences be hanged. I just got this game as well so maybe it will improve. I'd also like to stay in 1st person mode instead of constantly being forced back into third (in town). I found myself holding down R (the turbo button) alot in sea battles as well.

Fragile Allegiance. It had some rather annoying things that could've easily been fixed to turn it into a classic. For all those niggling faults, there is still a lot of fun to be had with it.
Ascendancy. Loved the game at first, as many do, but after a while you realise just how badly the AI lets the whole thing down, plus some of the tech and building design needed some adjusting for proper balance. I still enjoy playing it however.
