Release date now March 2002?
According to the latest (August) UK PCGamer, the CIV 3 release date is now March 2002. They say that the November release date had been a bit optimistic. Just thought you'd like to know.

I'm not going to pay attention to any release date unless it comes from Firaxis themselves.

Jeff Morris said in the interview, "Don't get me started on gaming magazines.. " It's obvious that gaming magazines have been printing information not confirmed by Firaxis and probably we shouldn't trust dates or game information we find in them. I'm hoping for October but . . . .

Actually, I just won't wait till Spring 2002, I'll be bored to death before that! Plus, I also want to put my hands on Age of Mythology, and want to have several months of undisturbed civing before it.
But let's waut till FIRAXIS announce the release date.

It still seems that Firaxis is not saying because they are going to wait until they are done.
However, Infogrames is running a corporation that is trying to sell games and they are more than happy to give others their guess as to when the game is done. After the website and ad fiasco, Firaxis told them chill it is not going to be out then probably not until March. Well, instead of learning a lesson and keeping their mouth shut, it appears now that Infogrames is spouting that date as the new release date. Stop listening until Firaxis says something, this thing could be delayed until next Christmas.

I honestly think the game is just about done. Firaxis is moving to a beta in the next few weeks, which means that they've implented all the major things they're going to include. The rest is just polishing and adding details.
I expect the game to be out by January.

According to their ads... It's October 2001.
I still say June 2002.

Please don't let it be March or later, cuz from March I have to start the reading of our schoolwork from the last 2 years, and if Civ3 is going to be released at that time It'll proberly be diffecult to get me away from the computer for the next 3+ months...and I guess that wont look good to the exame (What is the english word for that?)

It depends on whether there will be an "Asia-Pacific" version.

I would suspect a game of such prominence to have a world-wide release.
New Zealand got Alpha Centauri before the US did!

There's no way that they'll release it in January - that's straight after Christamas when everyone has lots of games and no money (or so standard marketing practice says )
