You need the Multiplayer Gold edition, and you need a downloadable patch to update it (I think). The patch is available from microprose.com

Then you need to find someone to play with. There is a "setting up" thread that helps with that and you can also find players by ICQ (another thread).

If you want to ICQ me to try a start or two, contact me at ICQ # 37552809. I'm definately not one of the top players, so it would be a relaxed game.

Isn't there a patch now for "regular" Civ II, non MGE?
I think that's what the 2.42 patch is, but haven't looked because I didn't need it

If you have MGE, the patch is 1.31.
I have it if you don't find, and can send to you.

Get ICQ, as cavebear also said.

I'll give you the Zone url, if it comes down to that, but ICQ contact list has more serious players.
