To those who voted for Boer: they're just a bunch of Dutch emigrants (with a few French and Germans going with them; boer = Dutch for farmer), so feel free to change your vote.
There are similar Dutch farmer communities in the USA, Russia, Australia and lots of other countries, but the Boer are the only major one to keep their parental language (Afrikaans = a Dutch dialect).

Locotus, regarding the Ottoman Turks, I’ll try to clarify. (I may end up doing the reverse but I’ll take the risk )
To start with, Turkey is, as you may know, a direct descendant of the Ottoman Empire. However, the Turks are only one of the many Turkic cultures, including amongst others the Kazaks, the Uzbeks etc
The Ottomans are in fact a dynasty, named after it’s founder Osman. He united a confederation of Turkic tribes, the Oguz, into the Ottoman Empire, which is commonly and confusingly referred to as “the Turks”.
So the Ottomans are by definition Turks, the term “Ottoman Turks” is just meant to be precise.
It’s Ghanaians, not Ghanese...
And regarding the 7 points I have left: +7 Mongols (giving them a total of 14)

I mean it, rename the Barbarians. We now know that they did live with Cro-Magnon man because of the bones that were found two or three years ago.
BTW Loctus go see the movie its great. Action from the start to the finish. As in an Indy Jones movie.

Updated again, up to Bob Dorman this time.
Orange,
FYI, you have 10 points left.
LaRusso,
You posted 7 civs without points. I gave them all 20 points, which means you've got 20 points left.
Bob Dornan,
A bit superfluous to mention maybe but you've got 140 points left.
Arator,
I'm treating the Israeli and Hebrew as separate civs here, as I explained in my new rules. One could argue that Israeli are a civ that exists since WWII while the Hebrew refers to the civ that lived in Israel millenia ago. One could also see these two as one and the same civ, but if that is so, the name shouldn't matter. In any case, there are more name issues like this (FE Ottoman/Turkish, Ethiopia/Axum, Carthage/Phoenicia, Austro-Hungarians/Hungarians/Magyar) and to avoid any trouble I treat every name as a seperate civ.
Ribannah,
Yes, but the Boers fought an infamous war against the Brittish (which, let's face it, is also the only reason why the Zulus are in) and also (contrary to Dutch farmers in the US and elsewhere) saw themselves as a independent nation, not as Dutch or English or anything else but as Boer. In any case, everyone can vote for whichever civ (s)he sees fit. If anyone would want to vote for Andorra or Boers or whatever, that's perfectly okay. Whether or not it will actually make a difference in the overall ranking is a different story...
Colon,
Okay, but as I said above, I'm treating each name as a seperate civ to avoid problems (in case some people might refer to Turks as the modern Turks and to Ottoman as the old empire while others might refer to Turks as all Turkic tribes/empires that ever existed and see Ottoman simply as a synonym of this). Do you want your vote to count as Turkish, Ottoman or Ottoman Turks?
Hmm, never even heard of Ghaians but I'll change that...
Edit: Colon, the Mongols have 17, not 7, so if you give all your left-over points to the Mongols you would give them 24 points, which is 4 more than allowed, so I can't change anything.
Alantus,
Maybe I'm just stupid but you could just give twice as many points to the Innuit and not vote for Eskimos at all...

Okay, here:
Mongols 20
Vikings 20
Spanish 20
Arabs 20
Turks 20
Koreans 20 (more Far East representation is needed!)
Phoenicians 10 (definitely it and Carthaginians should be considered one and the same civ)
Ethiopians 10
Mayans 10
Incas 10
I would add the Celts too, but Europe is already so crowded.
Locutus, why don't you count the votes two ways - one looking at the Ottomans/Turks, Magyars/Hungarians etc ... as one and one as separate. Personally I think most of those should be lumped into one. Just because a civ changed name over times or has more than one name shouldn't be a reason to get less votes - that's not fair.

My votes and proposed civ profiles:
20 Spain (Expansionist, Religious)
20 Carthage (Militaristic, Commercial)
15 Mongol (Militaristic, Expansionist)
15 Turkish (Militaristic, Expansionist)
15 Sweden (Scientific, Industrious)
10 Inca (Militaristic, Religious)
10 Dutch (Commercial, Expansionist)
10 Celts (Militaristic, Expansionist)
10 Portugal (Expanisonist, Religious)
5 Maya (Scientific, Religious)
5 Sioux (Expansionist, Religious)
5 Hebrew (Scientific, Religious)
5 Arabia (Expansionist, Religious)
5 Austria-Hungary(Militaristic, Expansionist)
5 Poland (Expansionist, Religious)
5 Phoenicians (Commercial, Scientific)
NOTE: Still can´t believe that Spain is not in Civ3.com list of civs, Spain was the largest and longer world empire ever, and it controlled more than 1/3 of world land for 4 centuries in the 5 continents, its influence in arts and literature is unparalel and its language is the 3rd in the world with more than 400 millions of speakers worlwide. A question for the civ3 team: What ELSE should have we done to be included in Civilization 3?.

What is the prerequires for that project, and when will you start it?

Your choice for Neanderthalers is a little odd (what Stefu said), though I suppose it's not forbidden or anything. What would you use as city names though, to my knowledge Neanderthalers were nomads? Heck, did they even have (spoken) language?
|
City names... I don't know, but as they built things (tables and chairs they must have lived somewhere .
Actually I just looked for something to spice up my list . I doubt they will be added, Firaxis can't find enough facts about them to make them.
Conclusion: that vote was wasted for the sake of humor

Probably make a couple of technological discoveries and build a few wonders (other than the Armada or Don Quixote), although that didn't help the Dutch to make it either. The problem is simply that there are already 6 European civs in the first 16, so we have to compare our own favourites from this continent to those instead of to the Zulus. That makes it hard to choose.
