if you want you can pre-order through a few different online places, AND give apolyton some ad-revenue. i believe there are some links that markg set up in the apolyton&community forum where you can pre-order civ3 and apolyton gets the credit for referring you, so if you want to do it that way, try there.
i myself won't be pre-ordering it at all, because i've heard that it generally takes longer to get the game that way.
