Duke Nukem Help!!
I have been playing a bit of this great old game, but it drives me nuts playing with mouse look on. the direction keys are on the right side of the keyboard, the crouch and jump are on the left.
of course, without mouse look on, I can't aim fast enough at those flying beasties.
I was looking at the key layout again (F1) and saw the text saying:
DEFAULT KEYS
can it be? is there really a way to remap the keys to a familiar WASD and so forth?

Duke Nukem is also one of my favourites. I think I finished all levels about 10 times before I got bored with it.
Anyway, I also remember having trouble with mouse view but I can control the mouse with both hands-so I aimed and fired guns with the mouse on my left and moved with the directional keys on my right. Maybe you should try it out too, but I can't help you with those default keys.

There is a way to reconfigure the controls, and I think that it involves a separate program in the Duke nukem directory. Unfortunatly, I don't remember precisely how it works.

I've downloaded Atomic edition and there's a Setup program which allows you to reconfigure keys.

Isn't it all in the same Setup program that you use to set up Deathmatches and the like? This was my first Deathmatch game and one I designed half a dozen crap maps for...

Thanks, Snapcase
the setup program works. or, alternatively, I can hack the CFG file with a text editor.
Strafe doesn't work like I'm used to. pressing the key doesn't move you. it seems you have to hold the key and move the mouse.
still, it's a lot easier to play this way. thanks
