Civs that should be in and reasons
The principal civilisations should be in. So that all micro-civilisations are globalized in others. As Babylonians covering Sumarians, Hittites, etc.

I would then add to those in Civ III these ones: a civ representing all micro-civs pacific amerindians (amerindians were really divided in two cultures, one which was pretty pacific and matriarcal (or it was the non-pacific that was matriarcal?...) and the other which was opposite and now called Iroquois), Goths, Celts, Mongols, Arabs (isn't there a more general term for them, like the one before the arriving of muslim?), Spanish (do Portugueses have a different cultural root? They were the richest and more expanded at some time, but they seem like in the Spanish line to me, culturally), Turks (are they generalized in Arabs? Or should Arabs be generalized in Turks?), Khmers (not sure if they aren't generalized in other oriental civs). Maybe also Aborigens and Inuits are a totally separated culture, even if they were so pacific they never expanded or anything (or maybe they are already generalized in some other civ?). Also, is there a generalized term for Pacific islanders or are they culturally generalized in Zulus/Aborigens/Amerindians or any oriental civs?

Anyone has any opinion on all what I said here, covering all civilisations?

I forgot the northern europeans, which could be generalized in a certain name I don't remember. Was it "Slavish" or something like this? Well it does cover Vikings.

I think "Slavish" doesn't quite cover the Dutch.

A lesson on how civillizations are connected:

The Vikings did the follwing:

Invaded Anglo/Saxon England creating the Anglo/Norse England of Harold.

Invaded northern France creating the Normans, who unable to take over the French throne invaded England, Sicily and Italy.

(Technically you could call Williams invasion of England a Viking civil war!)

Invaded down the Vistula river to the Crimea, conquring the Slavs of the area and creating the Russ. The Russ became the Russians.

Settled many areas of the Baltic which became the major trade centers of northern Europe.

Where the first europeans to land in north america. I think that if asignificant viking migration to the americas had occured, the Vikings would had assimilated into the local populace as they had done throughout northern Europe. Thus the English would have found the Native Americans more formidable, with a possiblility of a trading empire that would rival any european one of the period.

The Vikings originated from Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Iceland I think, though Denmark was the most dominating region.

The Vikings

The ancient Scandiavians were a huge trading power prior to the 1300s. Also many of the cities thier are very old by Northern European standards ( Trondhiem was founded between 1000b.c. and 500b.c. as a trading center). They also have northern Europe's oldest culture. 6000 years old!!! The only reason they coulden't build great structures, I think, was because they had to complete buildings by winter so the workers didn't freeze. :banned: :banned: :banned:

That's south Scandinavia. But the Vikings (Norse word for raiders/pirates) were also from Sweden and Norway as well.

The Polaks, Russians and Czechs are Slavic, the Vikings were not (as they were Germanic).

Romanian is a Latin/Romance language, so I suppose the Romanians consider themselves Latin but I really don't know.
