Should Settlers Be Gals?
I mean without em how do you get pop increase? As the years go by the settler could go from petticoats ending up in bikinis. Starting w/ the Women folk unit you advance to the Gal unit and then the Babe unit. Eventually they would just flat out refuse to go where you want em to also.
Wouldn't this be great?

Hmmm, not sure I would like these as a replacement for the settler/engineer. Whereas the settler->engineer becomes more useful it sounds as if the womenfolk->gal->babe unit becomes LESS useful over time.
shoot, I'll bet that 2 babes couldn't even touch a pollution square, but 2 engineers can clean up in a single turn!

Totally naf notion, Lancer. We play this game to get AWAY from real life, not to be tormented all over again.
On the other hand, exactly how do you say this progression will progress? After all, masochism is fun, or so someone was telling me (an inveterate "go to" key user, I expect).

John, totally counter productive actually. In the end your Babe unit would leave with all your shields and join another civ.
EST, start w/ the Slave Girl unit. With the discovery of writing it becomes Petticoat. I'll let others come up w/ the rest.
The 'Go To' button should be replaced w/ a 'Honey, would you please go umm...to...ahhh...' button.

So what kind of orders can you issue to the GAL unit?

Just so long as it doesn't all end up with "wife" unit.
What would that one's stats be - attack, devastating - defence, can be wounded whereupon attacking unit immediately undergoes painful convertion!

Mr Dimbleby, to the Slave girl unit you may issue any command and it will be acted upon. To the Petticoat unit you may issue almost any reasonable order and expect it to be fulfilled. To the Gal unit you may expect your requests to be considered, and even possibly acted on. To the Babe unit you may give a request, whatever, she'll ignore you and do what she wants anyway.

And God help he who fails to obey the orders issued by the "wife" unit to him!
I told you this would get too much like real life.
But again - wandering nomads. Mmmm, is that an interesting sounding unit to stumble upon when far from home and feeling lonely?

Hey. On building Women's Suffrage do they all upgrade to "independant wives", a self supporting unit with the power to found their own civ?
Now that might even persuade me to build the damn useless thing.

Independent wives forming their own Civ? HaHaHa...almost as absurd as the feminist civ in SMAC. However...if they hit you w/ an alamony assault then YOU get to go restart another civ, and do it while giving her half your shields.
Hodad, there is a difference between sex slave and a slave girl. Umm, maybe not...
'Pimpism' Hey... how come all unhappy Civs didn't join the US during the current admin?

*SIGH!*
Another dull topic, another childish reminder of the fact that girls exist.

In the ToT fantsay game, the human settler may be female (it's a little hard to tell for sure).
The witch is definitely female.

What about the diplomat in Civ2. I mean female adviser, female Mata - for consistency seems diplo should be female too.
But would any woman dress like that? I think not.

Umm, that's what modpacks are for? You can copy and paste any figure you want or just use a replacement units.gif. In HiRes 2.4, the settler unit is a conestoga wagon, presumably with a husband and wife.

Ah, I see this is still going...
Well, if you can't beat 'em, kill them with a cliff, a rock, and some Jack Daniels, or whatever the quote is...
The differen units in the Tolkien/Lord of the Rings scenarios should fulfill you guys' adolescent urges.
