Mark or Dan: How about selling Civ3?
Hi guys,

Have you given any thought to selling Civ3, particularly the limited edition version, at the Apolyton Store?

I’d much rather pay you guys the Internet price for Civ3 rather than some faceless e-commerce company.

Maybe you could even swing a deal with Firaxis to get the game released early to Apolyton members.

Markos, I think he means that you Apolyton guys sell it yourself,
instead of via Chips&Bits or Amazon...

And I like his suggestion of an earlier release date for Apolyton'ers!

I know about the links Mark, but if we order from them, we'll get it the same time as everyone else, whereas you might be able to get the stuff early. Just a thought.

Is it correct that you get a slice of the action for every civ3 order through one of the internet guys, provided we click on the link from the Apolyton site?

Ah well,

I think all Apolyton members who plan to order Civ3 through the Internet should do so through Apolotyn. Mark and Dan deserve the commission.

By the way Mark, does it make a difference which of the three sites we order from or do they all give you the same commission.

That's good to know.

The Chips and Bits is $2 more expensive, once I add in shipping costs to Asia, but that extra cost will go to you guys.

So even if Amazon gets around to offering the Collector's edition, I think Apolyton members should think about paying the higher price at Chips and Bits. Individually, the higher price isn't that much more, except for those on a tight budget. But put all of our orders together and it could mean a lot more bucks for Mark and Dan.

I'm sure this site is a labor of love for them, but if they can make some money to offset the cost, all the better.

what if you go to Amazon.com, and than to Amazon.co.uk from there. Does it still count?

I would like to do that if it does, since shipping cost+import tax is quite big for us living on the other side of the ocean.

depends on where you are and what kind of shipment you choose

check out their shipping policies page

international mail is 7-14 days(which means that for some countries you wuill actually get it sooner than everyone else in your country )
there is also international courier which takes 2-3 days

You just made $6 from me, Mark - I just ordered the LE from Chips & Bits after following your link. Could you put it toward the "faster server" fund?

How about this: Mark and Dan set up an Amazon Honor System account for Apolyton. Then just buy from whoever offers the best deal and give the difference directly to Mark and Dan through the Honor System. That way they get more money -- otherwise most of the extra money you're spending is just going to Chips and Bits.

If I order anything from outside EU they make me pay Swedish tax 25% (on shipping as well), and, from the US 12% custom (on the tax as well) that makes a total of 40% more. I don't know if my economy can handle this, but if the LE doesn't came to EU I have to check what I can do.
(I know this after my brother ordered a Rubic’s Revenge from the US). It had a label on it that said: "Opened and checked by the custom".
