What do you want in an expansion pack?
Some people have interesting ideas. I say that there is better scenario-creatuing ability in the fan base, and since 12 scens are shipping with the game, we really have no need for more firaxian scenarios, but i'll include an option anyway. There is a lot of support on the site, i know, for more civs in an expansion pack, and I agree that 16 civs is not enough, but we dont know yet how easy it is to add civs to the mix yet, so I am not completely with that group either. Another option is more techs/units/wonders/improvements/govs, because in these areas there is not much change from civ2. This is the group I most support because while I believe the changes firaxis has made are more important than extra units, CTP was not hurt by its number of units, it was hurt by the game balance and other bugs. One of the only things that made CTP fun for me WAS all the units/tecs/etc... Lastly there is general game/bug fixes, which I hope wont have to be made, and if they do, they will be made in a patch, but there is always the possiblity. Then there are combo options, and none of the above...

I am 1+2+4, with 3 as optional
actually the most important is game fixes
than more civilizations
and than scenarios,
more tech/units... well it would be nice to have some extra animated units for the scenarios

1+2+3+4
but in reverse order:
must: 4
wanted: 3
it would be nice: 2
last: 1 (a lot of scenarios will be available from scenario-makers, anyway)

When thinking about it, I agree more with your order... units are the second most important addition, since they must be the hardest to create, and will be needed for new civs.

"All of the above", but:
more civs - absolutely
bug fixes - hope we don´t need so much of them
scenarios - if included they should offer more than a map with cities placed, they should have a new atmosphere, new units, icons etc, good events, perhaps own intro/game end videos etc...

I would hope that if bugs were found in Civ 3, then we wouldn't have to pay to have them fixed... However with Firaxis' reputation, we wont need to worry about that, if needed a patch will be provided.
I would like the ability to have more Civs at the start of the game, screens to support that many (diplomacy, etc), and more civs so i can use this feature
Extra techs and units would also be fun!

I'll have to vote for everything except more scenarios. There is a good fan scenario database here, and these are usually better than the Firaxis scenarios. I also agree with the people here who assign first priority to more civs. If the largest map is 6x the size of Civ2, then we will need more civs.

i would want to have the game perfect as it is, but i know there will not be enuff civs and to make them you have to do units which arent animated soo..
all of the above
i would like to have slighlty more future time, like up to 2100 of 2050, like ctp only shorter and not unrealistic
i would also like water citys as an option in a xpansion pak. like for 100s of years people have built houses on stilts in marsh and water, so you shud get construction boats which build citys but they can only hold 2 or 3 citezens

oh cmon guys, you all want everything! of COURSE! but im looking for what you MOST want!
You all have orders, why dont you vote for the 1st one on your list. The whole point was what do you MOST want, becuase it is highly unlikely that firaxis will include all of the above, and I want an idea of what people PREFER.
thank you

more civs. and the ability to have 32 civs in a game, if I want
the scenarios we can do ourselves.
units, techs, govs, same thing. do it ourselves.
bug fixes. for heavens sakes, patch it!
IMHO

In addition to "all of the above", I want a lot of (accurate!) historical background.

If you say this, everyone is going to vote for bug fixes, simply because they're necessary.

How about a scripting language? Either something rudimentary like the event handlers in civ2 scenarios or something complex like SLIC.

Sounds good. It will take the fans a few months till they start to create great scenarios; so there should definitely be a few in the pack. Also one can learn faster how to use the editor, if there are some example scenarios to take apart.
