CivTrivia!!
On the new civ3 site update today, they have added Civtrivia - it's a daily trivia question about history and civilization. Today's question was worth 50 points; I suspect it will keep track of each players total score. By the way, I got the question wrong.

Just FYI in case you've seen it, the load-balanced configuration of the servers is what is screwing up the leaderboard java applet, we're working on a fix for it so hold tight.

So is there going to be a prize or something for the top scorer? Or do they just earn the adoration of civ fans everywhere?

Dan,
What happens if you miss to visit one day?
Will that question become lost, or will you be able to answer it later?
What time will the questions change?

The questions change every night at midnight ET. If you miss one, you can't go back and answer them.
As far as prizes, nothing's official, but we may have something for the person who scores the highest

The leaderboard seems to work now, but I think it is quite slow. Dose it have to stop on everyname? Can you add a link to a HTML-version? That would help if I am in hurry.

Provost,
The answer fooled me too. Oh well I guess we still have a ton of more questions to answer in the coming weeks. It should be fun and thanks for adding something new for us to do on Civ III. But when is the next designer update coming?

Click the applet window and drag, you can move it up and down quickly.

So did I! That was a pretty tough one to begin with. They got it from some or other "Cartoon history" -- it surely wasn't in Britannica or the other encyclopedias I consulted!

They asked what Mesopotamian warrior-king Gilgamesh’s divine claim-to-fame was.
The answer is that two of his three parents were gods.
(I post the answer as Dan has said there is no way to answer an old question)

I've been reading about the ancient history in School recently, and this makes the first two questions sound easy. They must be hard if you don't have read about it recently. I mean it ain’t actually things you remember very long. Good luck with Tomorrows Question. I hope you have more luck then .
Is it possible to cheat? I hope not.

I was wrong on the first one.
I didn't use any help (encyclopedia or anything). I just used common sense. And it failed.
It was about a mesopotamian guy and how he got involved with the gods or got his name parrarelled with the gods or something like that.
I replied he defeated them (I mean that just sounded right).
But he apparently, as Gramphos said, 2 out of his 3 parents were gods. Peculiar family.
edit: great I got the 2nd one wrong too

to those who got the first question right...
1. you know nothing of the birds and the bees.
2. where is your credulity.
3. you are guilble to believe in the divine.
I got it wrong on purpose (my brother got it right...if the answer can be considered correct)...
