Here's my highly anticipated guess...Romans.
If I guess this correct I'll be 2 for 2.
By the way the last Civ is going to be the Americans.

Is that more difficult than to strike new paths, fighting the habitual, experiencing the insecurity of independence and the frequent wavering of one’s feelings and even one’s conscience, proceeding often without any consolation, but ever with the eternal goal of the true, the beautiful, and the good? - F.N.

Rome.
Followed by Germany and Japan, or vice versa, methinks.
Then France and Britain. We'll see.

Well...now that we're all totally confused and thrown off, and Firaxis has had their laughs, maybe we'll get Rome?

Yeah, I think so. Rome, Legion. I'm not expecting another surprise. Humm, but then again it wouldn't be called a surprise if...

My guess would be PinkFloydians or KingCrimsons
My another guess is that these kind of threads are just to get more post counts. IMHO there should be no counters, it just makes people to spam... like this

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Japanese are next, but Romans not long after. But then again, Firaxis may have read this thread and decided to release Rome last just to toy with us

Probably the Japanese, Iroquois, or Zulus. Perhaps they are getting all of the non-western civs out of the way first?

I'm putting my money on the Zulus. Here comes another ancient UU, hope it is not as boring as the Aztec's.

I bet they do the Americans next, just to throw everybody off even more. But since Dan checks this thread, and then just picks whatever, he'll probably do the Romans this time. I bet he was gonna do 'em last time until everybody guessed that the Romans were next.

Not to spoil the surprise, but the Zulu Impi is a 1/2/2. Like a Spearman 1/2/1 with an extra move.

Come on! Anyone really think Dan doesn't have anything better to do that play on us? That would be too childish, and I have greater respect for Dan M. to believe this.
They probably throw at us any Civ they are ready to show: final graphics, final stats for Specific Unit...

Id have to say the Zulus are next... or maybe the Iroquois.
Dan will probably release the 'most interesting' civs, like Americans or Romans last to build up more enthusiasm just before release. (For those newbies who are only just hearing about civ)
But then again, im only guessing

I agree with Shanky. But to expand on that thought, I wonder if they have finished play balancing the early game units, and are still tweaking the late-game units. That would explain the fact that every civ that's been presented so far has an ancient or middle ages unit. So I'll go out on a limb and say the order will be:
The Zulus
The Iroquois
The Japanese
The Romans
The French
The English
The Russians
The Germans
The Americans

Russians or Japanese next. I just know it.
Edit: To further extrapolate, here's my list o' civs, just by guesswork.
1. Russians
2. Japanese
3. English
4. Americans (almost release time here)
5. Iroquois
6. French
7. Zulus
8. Germans

My guess for next week is the Japanese. That is, if we are going in order of the leader. I think Tokugawa is the oldest leader left of the bunch. I could be wrong about that though. Does anyone know when Tokugawa ruled Japan?
