In addition to this, they invented Powder for Hand Grenades v. 0.9b (those Chinese-made "grenades" were iron balls filled with the mixture of potassium nitrate, charcoal and sulphur)...

China certainly qualifies as a scientific civ. It invented, among other things, paper, gunpower, compass, and toothbrush. Compass we probably don't use much nowadays, but can you live without toothbrush?

Well, I think everyone agrees that the Chinese is not militaristic and more scientific. The only reason they wanted to change it was bcos it triggers golden age when the Great Wall was built. But even that reason I don't agree with. The Great wall shouldn't trigger golden ages for militaristic civs bcos militaristic civs won't build a wall to shield off themselves. Thus firaxis shouldn't have changed Chinese to militaristic. They should instead cancel the militaristic golden age trigger for the Great Wall.

I forgot to say about Sun Zi's wonder. It's another reason why they changed China to militaristic.
Well, I don't think Sun Zi should be a wonder at all, amongst many other Chinese achievements that could be considered as a wonder. eg Forbidden City, Silk Road, Grand Canal.
If they want a wonder for militaristic civs, they should make it Napoleon's Academy or Genghis Khan's Academy.

Yes, Imperial China did become progressively isolationistic after the beginning of Ming dynasty, which was unfortunate. Think of it this way though: out of at least 3000 years about 400 years or so were isolationistic. Not bad at all. How long has those French been at it? Shorter, I submit
As for being Expansionistic, that also came in spurs. At the beginning of certain dynasties (notably Han, Tang, Qing, but particularly Yuan) much was done to push back the borders, only to have them eroded as imperial power declined.
