If you don't have Babylon engine and dictionnaries on your PC, well download right now. It is a must
You can download the Babylon builder utility for free and creating a new glossary is really simple - the source file is editable and you can copy-paste you existing list into it.
Note that there are already many glossaries on chatroom abbreviations available on Babylon (search "chatroom"), but none related to Civilization.

As nobody seemed to be interested, I did one for me.
But, as I'm cute, I share it with you, including the source file for those who want to extend / improve it.

Alanus:
if you can get the new list into a html-format like it is in the first post, or something prettier, i'll edit my post and put your list up.

What I did was to capture one of the lists of this thread in HTML format and turn it into Babylon format, so that it can be read by Babylon translator. What I did is intended to be used with Babylon, not as stand-alone. And I will certainly not turn it back to HTML.
The source file in the .zip is an ASCII editable file, but under the Babylon glossary format, and can be read by Babylon Builder. All these tools can be downloaded on Babylon web site, at no charge.

My intent was to create a Babylon file, not an HTML file.
But you can edit the source file that I have posted and with a small number of iterations of Search/Replace you have the HTML file that you dream of (I suppose that you know the HTML syntax)

Listen guys, just read the messages and visit the indicated website http://www.babylon.com
Babylon is one of the most popular on-line translators, that can be used with any application thanks to Optical Character Recognition. Initially provided with English-to-other-languages dictionnaries, it has now been enriched by the community with glossaries on nearly any topic you can dream of.

Hello!
When I first encountered it, I translated
LOL - lots of laughter.
And RF in these Forums probably refers to the (difficut) Civ2-scenario "Red Front" by Captain Nemo.
To Kamrat X: (who does not accept e-mail?)
KMFDM - Kein Merheit Für Die Mitgleid
This probably is not correct. It could be "Keine Mehrheit für die Mitglieder" (no majority for the members) or it could be "Keine Mehrheit für die mit Glied" (no majority for those with ... ahm ... "parts"). Or I'm wrong and they *wanted* it this way.

I haven't seen these in the first post, but to be honest I haven't read the rest of the thread. Anyway:
- CF = culture flipping
- GL = Great Library (the same as Great Leader)
Also, if you feel that WTF is too harsh, you can use WTH (What the Hell).

GL can be confusing for new civ3 players.
GL = Great Leader, Great Library, Great Lighthouse
GW = Great Wonder, Great Wall
WW = World War, War Weariness
MP = MarketPlace, Military Police, Multi-Player, Manufacturing Plant (who actually plays that far into the game, anyways )
MPP = Mutual Protection Pact
SP = Single Player, Solar Plant
HP = Hit points, Hydro Plant
ST = Sun Tzu's, Shakesphere's Theater (more often just called Shakesphere's), Smith's Trading Company (more often called Smith's)
MW = Mounted Warrior (Iroquois UU)
MoW = Man o' War (English UU)
WC = War Chariot (Egyptian UU)
JW = Jaguar Warrior (Aztec UU)
WE = War Elephant (Indian UU)
UU = Unique Unit
MI = mech infantry
MA = Modern Armor

Earlier, I noticed someone had listed XP as experience. I've seen it more often referred to as Windows XP - when referring to problems experienced by some CIV III players who switched to that operating system, the game didn't work, and they couldn't get any help from Infogrammes.
Additionally, XP was used in earlier conversations when referring to what was coming in the eXpansion Pack for CIV III - such as a scenario editor, play by mail, and multiplayer games. The XP has now morphed into "Play the World".
Very respectfully,
Jerry Sindle

Infogrammes did not help, because it was not their problem. The games works fine in XP and has since it came out. I would think that any one using XP for experience or expansion, is way too lazy (add a letter for exp), but you can tell form the context what they are talking about.

bump is a simple way to bump the thread in question up the list. Since the threads are sorted by last post date, a thread that hasn't been posted to in a while will drop way down the list.
I have seen LOL with both answers Laugh and Laughing.
