A sad, bent figure shuffles across the mindworm-infested landscape muttering "2180 to Mark" repeatedly to itself ...
(Edited so it now makes sense )

All right. Maybe not little. Would you settle for "modest"?
Given the rate at which you're building those projects, I hope this sudden flurry of activity is due to those artifacts
The graph has me leading, the who's who says it's you. Neck-and-neck then? 2181 sent.

Nothing much to report. The Battle of the Pop Booms continues ... Provost Mark has returned to Planned temporarily. We are proving the Virtual vs the Virtues - which is more worthwhile at this difficulty level?
Otherwise all is quiet, even (for a change) the Natives.
Always a bad sign
2182 is off to Mark.

The rate at which we are building projects? ROFLMAO - that's my first since the PTS, way back in....2165
Though I do have my beady eye on a certain other project I won't name
Hah. BTW - I think the SC's rather more significant than either of the projects you've mentioned
2182 back...

Well, our spies may be confused but we could have sworn that you built the Neural Amplifier and the Longevity in the last couple of years?
If you are looking for yet another project to build, may I suggest the Command Nexus? Ordinarily I'd like it for myself of course. But I'm feeling generous this evening

Oh yeah, the Amplifier. Well, that was mainly out of boredom as much as anything....I hardly think it counts
Heh - believe it or not, I nearly did build the Nexus. Especially running FM, those elite worm-hunters can be darned useful....
2183 to Mis, now I've finally had a chance to play it...

Sorry about the delay. Sheesh. Wish I had the kind of energy that would enable me to go on an SP shopping spree to relieve my boredom.
More worms have appeared from the deep desert to the South, but on the whole it has to be said that things are moving along pretty nicely. Our transport has run out of stuff to pop, so we are busy admiring Provost Mark's delightful empire ...
Edited to add that 2184 is off to Mark ...

Well, I haven't seen a worm in....3 turns
And Mis - no, it wasn't the HSA
Oh, and the whiter-than-white conservators across the pond are *still* pop-booming away....
2184 to Mis....

Nah, our pop boom is ancient history. Seeing as the Markites have thrown in the towel on the population front, we've reverted to FM/Knowledge too. And called an election
Not the HSA?
Could it be ... the ToE?
2185 to Provost Mark, who is and will remain honest as the day is long (seeing how the HSA gives him no choice )

Bah! Completely forgot all about elections....
Hmmm. Oh well, back to plan A
Guess again....while the ToE is, er....rather a nice SP, it is not vital to our plans at this time
WE SHALL NOT SURRENDER!!!
YET!!!

2186 is off to Provost Mark. Provost Mis is off to review the new data ...

Hmmm. While your data remains shrouded in secrecy. Needless to say, the sighting of a Super Fusion Sea Former did nothing to inspire confidence....
*ding, ding, ding!!!*
Give the gal a cookie....
You can tell this is going to be fun....not for me though...

That would no doubt be the ex-super fusion sea former, now worm fodder would it ? From the IoD wot you also happened to "sight" ?
Well, as expected, we are researching quite different beelines. The Neural Amp and the Longevity kind of gave away your direction, so no surprises there I have the tech lead, but not by much, my chances of getting to the Vats before you are slim. You have a few more bases than I do.
I think it's vendetta time ... 2187 to Mark.

Oh yeah - LOL, that one.
Well....your analysis of this game is rather less lop-sided than I'd have given it, I must admit. I've gone down a somewhat unconventional beeline, going with circumstancs, I guess....there was next to no chance of me getting the ToE, so the plan was to concentrate on growth, and go for the Vats. So....here I am
Your tech lead is quite convincing, and I'm quite sure your tech rate far surpasses mine right now. Hell, I haven't even managed to get an energy park up....yet....
Oh well, enough of my whingeing - 2187 to Mis....

When I said "slim", that was "slim" as in "non-existent". Congrats on the Vats, Provost :hmm:
Well put it this way. I am less sanguine now I have all the facts than I was when I was blissfully ignorant I am ahead on tech, no question, but not nearly so far ahead as I thought. On the last three b/throughs I wasn't offered the tech I wanted twice, which will also cost me dear I have a better research rate than you do, but not by that much considering you don't have Fusion yet. Yeah, I'm ahead pop-wise but that's temporary (VERY temporary with the Vats!! just got the election in in time, heh ). My economy, however, is extremely strong and may carry me through. I also have the two key research SPs, which has to count for something ...
Turns out it wasn't you who stirred up that IoD - your transport is miles away. But I blame you regardless and the people are calling for your blood

Hmmm, sounds markedly more promising than I had thought. Anyway, Fusion beckons next turn....and the Misotu-hunter is prototyped
Well, at the moment, I'm scrambling. I don't have an economy right now....though hopefully with the next stage of the plan that will change. Fusion will help when I get those labsup, not to mention those handy cheap Fusion Speeder Supplies (no, not those Fusion Speeder Supplies, G, if you're reading )
Anyway, the two research SPs must count heavily in your favour....so you're still hot favourite, without a question. It'll be interesting to see, that's for sure....

Yeah - that one. Vendetta on you Provost Mark! Your pursuit of knowledge is nothing but a thinly-disguised weapons programme ... um ... we will now place this tech in responsible hands ... um something.
"Misotu Hunter". Hah! Your transport is no more - stay out of my waters or face the consequences!
Mwa hahahaha ... urgh ... choke.

I am very surprised! To think that Misotu attacked me like that without even trying to get to know me first!
Ah well. The Misotu-Hunter didn't produce after all, because those clever people at the design workshop decided it would be clever to forego building that for a turn to upgrade the bugger to Fusion. So...we wait another turn

Dammit! No turn received, so only time to post several insulting remarks plus a request for a resend.
We already know everything we need to know about you, Provost. Your aspirations for world domination and transcendence are well known, so don't come the innocent with us ...
The Mark Trench, as you well know, was claimed by Misotu explorers yonks ago you cheeky wee bugger ...

Tap, tap, tap go the fingers. He's watching Liverpool do pathetically against some Euro team. OK, Dortmund. Where is Owen? Wot is he doing? Why do they keep tripping him up? And what kind of man calls himself Bo*****?
Also ... where is my turn???
Edited: Gotta love that Apolyton auto-edit program Bobytch it sounds like. But too reminiscent of Bobbit, don'tcha think?

Hmmm. The sighting of six Misotuite satellites high in the sky did nothing to inspire Markite cnfidence. However, we can confirm the first of hopefully many Markite satellites is about to launch.
The discovery of The Will to Power beckons....
Edit - 2191 to Mis. Yes, I know, I know - it's 1am. Well, that's my excuse anyway

Satellites? Oh ... yeah ... those satellites ...
Just a failed experiment. You know how it is. Lots of lab facilities, lots of junk lying around, the lads start playing rockets, before you know it you've got weird stuff orbiting the Planet. Nothing to worry about ...
The growth across the pond is somewhat alarming though - now that is something to worry about ...
2192 to Mark.
