Minimum size of spaceship
What is the minimum set of requirements for a spaceship? I've seen the AI build rather small spaceships and get them off quickly, but every time I build one to the specs I see when I view their spaceships, it won't let me launch. Clearly, I'm missing something (probably the obvious). I've only played Bloodlust, so this is my introduction to the SS side of the game. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Check out this thread http://apolyton.net/forums/Forum3/HTML/000740.html
the smallest-fastest (OCC style) 100% ship is 15-3-3-1-1-1, butif you launch a ship with less than 100% chance of success it will reach AC, but your spaceship bonus will be reduced in line with that percentage

Speaking from memory I [i]think[\i] the smallest non 100% ship is 17, 1,1,1,1,1. That is 17 structurals, one engine, one fuel plus one each habitation, solar power and life support.
But that's a slow ship really only used for OCC. You will want to go for a faster one to be sure you're not overtaken in flight.

Actually, 15 strucurals is enough for the smallest ship. The ship with one of each component is used in OCC games when you launch while the turns are still in 10-year increments. In that case the slower ship will still get an earlier landing date because the turns go to 1-year increments when you lauch.
