picture upgrades
"Workers are a perfect example, as you no longer get ancient-era workers running around in the industrial era -- they change to a more "modernized" worker. " Dan

Will other units upgrade pics also? I mean, if you don't have leonardo's, maybe a caravel will look like a galleon but have old stats.

Yeah, that shouldn't happen. Imagine how intimidating it would look for all your opponent's units look like riflemen, and turn out to be warriors! That would skew the game from an intimidation standpoint.

I really wish that in Civ 3 the workers can be upgraded to their more modern equivalents, as in Civ 2 the only way to get engineers (without building Leo) was to build one. This left the problem of what to do with my obsolete settler unit. Keep them working at half the rate of an engineer, but still consuming full food and resource support. Or disband them to get *some* of my investment back. By the time i get explosives, all my cities are above 8 pop, so i cant get the pop point back from my settler, which is annoying - Effictively im losing a pop-point for each settler who becomes an engineer

Use them to boom-town a new city from zero to 8 in one turn. And move that old musketeer in there to rush the rifleman.
