Oh No! Simville Cancelled!!!
This was the only "The Sims" game I had any interest in, and now they cancelled it! Bad! Bad Maxis! BAD! Here's the story at Gamespot and Computer Games Online.

Yeah I was kind of looking forward to it. Too bad.

Yeah, baby, yeah. It was a flawed concept to begin with. I still can not fathom why these "real-life" simulators are so popular.

i thought it looked cool cos it was like sim town for 2002 and not kids.
its probly cos loads of dumb people bought all the expanion packs for their family and 5 pets (4 llamas and a alpacka) so maxis will just churn out the sims games while sid meier uses originality in his sim

They probably realized
A: The system Reqs were too demanding
B: Sim Town didn't sell well and Simsville was exactly like Sim Town, albeit a bit larger in scale.
However, this means that The Sims Online will receive the team's focus now.

UR : If you use the cheats and create ass tory- such as Inspector Clouseau wandering around trying to solve an international terrorist plan that is quartered out of a building where the terrorist is bunking with the General of NATO... The Sims quickly becomes more fun... Oh and yes, there is also a talking moose in the story

I just read the news from www.simsville.com and I had only one thing to say:
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
They can't do this, on my wishlist for the games I'd like to see mostly Simsville is number 2 (Civ3 is number 1)
Come on, this is a joke right, what is the meaning of canceling this...2 years of hard work, only a few months till release and then no more...this can't be true

Gamespot interviewed Maxis' director of marketing for an explanation of the cancellation. Read about it here.

The thing is they where more than 60% finnish with the game, and from what videos and screens told us the game wes total fun (while the sims just was fun for short time)
