Trading cities
Can you trade any city or just ones below a certain size? Because in some of the screen shots there is only one city to sell.

I guess that you can't trade your capital, and maybe the civ you are trading with need that city on its map to be able to trade it. This is just speculation.

And hopefully, unlike in SMAC, we'll be able to move around the map during these negotiations so we can actually see the cities in question.

Firaxis: please make sure that the AI is intelligent when it comes to trading cities. Do not allow the SMAC bug where the AI would trade its super cities for the player's pop 1 city.

Furthermore, let culture and nationality play a role. The population should still be loyal to their original civ!

Tradinc cities can be very important, like after a war where both civs agree to return to pre-war borders, but DO NOT allow city trading to be overdone and abused!

wouldnt it be fun to trade your most cultured city to someone for a smaller city, and then have the city you traded revolt back to you?

i think that they've also said you can do ethnic cleansing. so thats good. you can also use settlers. but i wish you could just disperse the ethnic people to other cities so they aren't a threat any longer.

and uberkrux: yes, just yes.

ethnic clenzing sounds very nazi-ish to me.

Will the population be able to vote on weather they want to join a civ or not (much like many states did in 1930's europe)

of course ethnic cleansing is nazi-ish. but many nations have done things that can at least be loosely considered ethnic cleansing.

and no, i don't think citizens will "vote" over things like that or anything else. i don't want civ 3 to be one of those games. You all know what i'm talking about.
