Maximum Cities angst
My approach to the game might be eccentric, but I like to smother other Civs out of existence by spreading like a cancer across my maps, spawning cities upon cities upon cities... Hence the CTP2 Maximum Cities per Government style feature drives me NUTS!
Can anyone help me by telling how I can disable this? Pleeease help if you can. Thanks

Heheh. The reason they put the max cities thing in and made it such a harsh penalty is to thwart the strategy you describe. I would suggest building fewer cities and spreading them out more.

There actually is a way to change the settings... in one of the text files...
try to find max citise line or something similar... I dont know exactly, but try posting this on the ctp2 mod forum, and one of the experienced modders will surely be able to point you exactly.. if noone answers you just try and open those (like rules, etc... )txt files in notepad and try to find (F3) max cities lines (there should be a couple one of reach government) and experiment. Once you find them increase the numbers to what you like for each government.

It's right that the city limits are intended to inhibit exactly this strategy.
But in my opinion everybody should be able to play the game he likes. I modified a lot of settings to change the game for my taste.
The city limits can be adjusted in a file called ctp2_data/default/gamedata/govern.txt.
In this file for every type of government there is a line which says
TooManyCitiesThreshold
followed by a number.
Change the number to the limit you want and that's it!

Thank you all for your advice... Can't wait to try and resurrect one mighty civ in particular! (Almost 100 cities in a Corporate republic... not surprisingly, about 30% are in disorder (or whatever disorder is called these days...))
