civ3 game setup screen...
the latest batch of screenshots include a game setup screen. Looks like they've removed the in game "customize own civilization" option. Understandable if they have the unique units and of course, we can can muck about with the editor to customize the game.... but still... bit of a loss eh ?

That game setup screen is from when the site first launched. I think we've fussed about enough things that they may have ended up changing some parts of it since then.

You can add your own unique civs.

For me, exploration and discovery is one the things I most enjoy about the Civ series.
Although I didn't see the "random" option that was a part of Civ2, I do hope that it will be included with the released product.

We just can't be sure of that. We've yet to see 'every' start up screen. There are many more 'unknowns' about this game than there are 'suported facts.'

Quite the contrary...there's that new random civ option
The effect could only be reproduced in Civ2 by holding the down arrow and looking away and stopping at a random time. I found myself doing that a lot.
