These boxes might have been printed a month ago. Firaxis only changed Cleo's look recently.

They're not going to re-print 20 000 boxes at immense cost for a minor change in graphics.

The boxes are probably not even printed in the US, and might have been in transit for the better part of a month.

Why would anyone particulary care about what her skine tone was(dark/light)? I guess I'm still hoping that we as humans would grow to see that we are all the same no matter our skin color. If people have this to complain about, we have a ways to go yet

Bigfree, it's a matter of historical accuracy. Cleo was Greek, not native Egyptian, and even native Egyptians have a lighter skin tone than the normal image of "black" people.
It's like if Abe Lincoln was represented as Asian...

I'm all for accuracy; but who's to say she wasn't a 'dark skinned' Greek? I'm just saying that skin tone shouldn't be a major concern, enough for Firaxis to have to make a change in it's art. If she was of Greek decent, then that is that; but to say "I think she was light/dark" is another. I really love that there are so many different cultures in the World. I just wish that there weren't as many negative biases to go along with them.

It's Political Correctness versus Historical Accuracy.
She was indeed Greek, and people of that region were paler then, than they are today. Turkey was a "white" country. It wasn't until the fall of Constantinopel, 1500 years later that Turkey became "muslim-asian-dark" whatever you want to call it.
Cleopatra as black seems as if to compensate as Motzezuma is the only other black person in the game. Apart of Mao and Gandhi, everyone is pretty white (European) in appearance, and colouring her may be a balancing act.
I'm happy they changed their minds. HA beats PC anytime.
