How will you like to first play Civ3?
A problem with this poll will be the possibility that there will be no separate toggle for abilities/uu's/golden ages. Thus I asked how you would *like* to first play Civ3.
I would first like to play with abilities on and uu's/golden ages off for the first game.

No matter how much I hate CSUs, golden ages and the like, on my first game I will play with all of them, just to see how the complete game works. Heck, I paid for the game, so I should at least sample the features I paid for.

Yeah, I want to experience all of the features that have been put into the game. UU's, GA's, everything. I'm definitely looking forward to it.

All of 'em! It's how it's designed to be played, and if I don't like them I can always turn them off. OTOH, if I play without them and find it passable, I may decide not to turn them on and miss out on potential ecstasies of delight.

All of them of course! I want the full Civ experience.
Besides, that stuff looks awesome.
I fully expect to lose (badly) my first game.
God I can't wait

I don't expect to lose (or at least not badly) since I will probably play at a relatively easy difficulty to get a feel for the flow of techs, units, gameplay, new concepts, diplomacy and what not... Of course once the difficulty is increased, who knows what will happen.

All options, prince level, as the Romans, or maybe the Chinese, possibly the English.

Wow, I thought that the majority would have all of the features on, but I didn't think it would be this lopsided!

Come on... What's the point of playing CivIII if you just want to play it like Civ II?

You're right. It's just like Civ2. Except it's Civ2 with new graphics, new wonders, new units, different diplomatic options, great leaders, new trade/resource model, culture, build queues, different combat model,...need I go on?

I wanna get a general idea of all what's in Civ III. So be sure I'll play it with all toggled on, wether I like it or not. I'll see what it gives after.

Yeah, i want to know how all the new features work, and the only way to do that is turn them all on! I think ill keep them on after that game too, as im optimistic
Which reminds me, it would be interesting to do this pole again about a week after Civ 3 is released, to see just how many people are still using the UUs, GAs and CSAs. So someone do it

I voted "All". It's crazy not to at least try all of the options for a few games.

All of them, definitely! I want the full throttle Civ III experience! My first game will prob. be as Persians vs. 9 or 10 random civs on Chieftain.

All of them, oh yes.
After enjoying SMAX's factions, I'm really looking forward to even more diversity in Civ3's civ's.
I'll probably play as Romans (because romans are cool ) or Germans (to try and repeat WW2 ).
No doubt I wont finish my first game, as I go rushing off to try all the other civilisations, or a new strategy.
mmmmmm Civ3.

All of them on, from the start, and probably evermore, barring special scenarios and experiments.
Unless one civ turns out to have a really big advantage that unbalances the game, which I doubt.
I mean, I never edited out the faction specific stuff in AC. it gives them personality.
Edit: that's odd, when did I become a king?

In my very first game of Civ 3 I will (of course) play the game with all the abilities on! Brand new things should be tested properly.

My very very first game will be with all the options at whatever the default is. I suspect this will mean the Civ3 new features specified in this poll will be all ON.
I also suspect the default option for map size will be the middle one, with whatever the maximum number of civs allowed on that map size is.
As for difficulty level, if they are the same options (has this been confirmed?) I will go for Prince. The Civ2 manual advised Civ players to drop a diffuculty level for their first game, so I will do the same thing here.
