Take a 'Risk'
I don't know if anyone has noticed but if you pre-order Civ3 from EBGames.com you get a free copy of Risk. That would have been nice but I already pre-ordered from Chips 'n' Bits.
I did a forum search to see if anyone had posted about this but there were no search results. Sorry if this has been mentioned somewhere else before.

Risk is a great game, with a fair bit of varierty over the board game. A bit dated now though.
Risk II is ok, but goes very much back to basics. Although it did introduce simultaneous turn based strategy for multiplay.

Risk is a great game, but I haven't seen the cpu version of it. Some people are saying it's not that great...

Nervous about pre-ordering
I am not sure I want to pre-order (even for Risk II, a game I have been meaning to get for ages).
This is because I have a fear that my pre-ordered copy won't arrive on the day of release and I'll be forced to wait as I don't want to purchase a second copy...
... then again I would still pay £80 for Civ III if it meets my expectations

I like Risk and I've played it quite a bit, but who's going to play Risk when they have civ3? We're not far from the release date. Who cares about Risk at this point?

Anybody know if it's Risk I or Risk II that EBGames is offering?
I remember reading it was Risk II, but now the page only says "Risk".
Anyways, I think I'll email EBGames and just find out.
Jesse.

The board game risk is so much more fun than the computer version, despite the small additions made by the computer version. But who cares about risk when you have civ 3?
