There are no links on the website. Maybe the other sections aren't finished yet?

I like the design but there needs to be much more content!

Looks great. When you get the forums working it'll really start booming. Now all you need to do is get a news item before Apolyton

It looks messed up on a Mac in Explorer 5. Looks like a problem with tables. Also I am generally opposed to Java scrolling text; I think it's better just to have a short list of links or short bit of text. It's better not to make the user wait and watch all the scrolling text in order to see if anything is of interest; it's impossible to scan, which is how most people read on the Web ( http://www.useit.com/alertbox/9710a.html).
Just a few criticisms. But it looks like when graphics are displayed correctly it's a nice, clean design.

awww that ok i think you are only the 1% that uses Macs
(actually i personally believe that computer people should all use *NIX or SGI's and everyone else should use macs, and the PC should die...but unfortunatly PC's have the market share )
edit: wait a sec...using IE on a Mac? isnt that an oxymoron?

Hi! Thanks all!
The graphics are mine, still a lot more to do yet tho!
Links don't work I know, but they will in the next few days.
I understand what you mean about the javascript, I didn't find it slow myself, are you having slow downs because of it? It's only there as an added feature, not an important part of the website, it's there in case something on the newsticker catches your interest, I'm not expecting people to sit there and wait. =o)
Thanks for the shot JellyDonut, I needed to see that, I have access to a mac so I can fix it on there.
It's probably running slow for you because a whole bunch of people just viewed the site at once, I never had any problems with it before, then again I don't really know. =o)
How much time I already know html? I don't really understand what you said, but if it's what I think you're saying, umm. I have known html for about 4 or 5 years now. LOL I hope I don't sound like a dork now.
thanks all

At the top there are a few cryptic comments/broken links
'Purple flamingo...two apples....'
Is this some sort of in-joke?

yeah, i think it was jsut overloaded then. cause i am on a cable modem which d/l's about 364KBs on weekends and nearly 1/2 a Meg/sec during the week (i even beet the T1 from work sometimes )
dont worry...as the time goes one you'll get more of a constant humm of visitors rather than a big slam of everyone visiting at once.

That's nothing, Nemo. It goes wicked fast on my 21900 bps connection and sometimes thed ISP doesn't disconnect me until I've loaded most of the page!

I have a 56K modem but none of the ISPs around here even support THAT, so I have to settle for a little less than 22K! Well it's what you get for living in the sticks...

I think that refers to the Australian magazine's preview of Civ III which hasn't made the news on Apolyton or CivFanatics yet...
