Foolish newbie. Come, let me show you the way. You see, there sometimes arise problems, such as how will the Iroquois get the horses to get its special unit on a world map, if realistically there are no native horses to North America? Well this creates a conflict. If we make the map have no horses in North America, the Iroquois won't have access to its special unit. That wouldn't be very much fun. But if we sprinkled some horses here and there, it would be kind of unrealistic, but what's the harm? So horses will be put in North America. As for your other suggestions, it's far too late to put them in. The game's going gold in a few days, so it's just little tweaks and debuggings before the game is finished. So if they're in, they're in, and if they're out, they're out.

P.S. This just came to me. Why is a person whose screenname is FuFu15 complaining about the color pink?

IMO, this whole topic is pretty silly. If you don't like people talking about Civ3, you are obviously clueless as to the idea of having a forum in the first place. It strikes me as abysmally ignorant to complain about complaining in a forum where complaining is the most common form of expression.

I thought this forum was FOR complaining? Is there somewhere else we should go? I, along with most, will probably stop posting here altogether when the game comes out. As it is, I haven't really posted anything anyway.

But I will say this-- I'll stop complaining when it's against the law to do so. Until then, I'll feel free to complain, to praise, to comment, to discuss to my heart's content. And so should everyone else. (within the limits of the forum agreement that we all agreed to when we registered here, of course)

It's really OK- I don't mind the complaining, as it actually gives me threads to SPAM on through the use of refutation.

I thought horses existed in North America long before either indians or cowboys did? Wild ones, you know?

People will always be complaining, simply because everyone has different expectations of Civ 3. So if Firaxis target the game for a certain audience, those who are left out will complain bitterly.

Of course, complaining about the complainers is also a fun way to pass the time until Civ 3 is released

MonsterMan-- there were no horses of any kind in North America, not even in the wild. The Europeans brought them over. That's why it's interesting that most people's visions of Native Americans are mounted warriors, but there wasn't any such thing before Europeans arrived on the continent.

Actually, horses did exist in North America many thousands of years ago, but died out. They have found fossilized remains dating back tens of thousands of years.

Yeah, they would have been extinct in NA by the time the game starts, but big whoop. It's enough of a what-if game that I can let my imagination stretch that far.

Cheers.
