Oh yes!! ALWAYS the same!! "If we include it, we must include all the other ones". You believe in your words or only want annoy us? This is the same pathetic recurse that uses the ones that yet have an indepentent state to say us "enough states in the world". So countries like Ireland are only a piece of England? Or Poland from Germany? Or better: Is Eritrea a part of Ethiopia? Serbians and Croats are the same ones? Japanese and Koreans?
Ok, looking that you know a bit more from the Iberian Peninsulae:
The SPAIN idea was conformed by the unity of:
- Castilla-Leon (that's why I voted it)
- Portugal (voted before)
- The Crown of Arargon
¡Only 3! And now let's to show why THE THREE ONES should be included:
Portugal: Great naval achievments, unique culture (speak galego-portugueis, and not, galego isn't a separate language). Have Brazil in the same cultural wave.
Castilla-Leon: Think in the central piece of Spain for it, and the countries in South America.
Crown of Aragon: Controlled all the naval trade in Europe, had the biggest city in Europe (València), advanced political structure,
separate culture from Castilla. We created all the basis for the Naval Code used in Europe until the XIX. Controlled military all the Mediterranean Sea. More than 500 years of history as an independent state. 4 wars/revolutions for obtain again the independence. Isn't enough?
That's all. I'm not speaking of 12 useless tribes like zulus or iroquois, or the hellenic city states! If you want a unique civ for us, ok, let's to vote IBERIANS.

Now, now, Leppersson, like I said before, there's nothing wrong with voting in any other language than English, as long as you're an Apolytoner (and alf's prince status & registration date confirm that).
Just to make sure I didn't screw up the translation (and to help out those of us who don't speak any Spanish), here's what I believe to be the English version of alf's vote (anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong):
Spanish: 20 points.
Byzantines: 20 points.
Carthaginians: 20 points.
Phoenicians: 20 points.
Maya: 20 points.
Inca: 20 points.
Aztec: 20 points.
Hebrew: 20 points.
If this is accurate, then there are a two problems with the vote: (1) the Aztecs are already in the game so I can't count that vote and (2) the Carthaginians and Phoenicians are (at least for the purpose of this poll) one and the same so I can only count one of those two.
Now, if alf needs a Spanish translation for the above he'll have to ask Jay Bee or some other Spanish poster about it 'cause I'm not *that* good
BTW, I'll update the ranking tonight or tomorrow morning.

Locutus, your translation of alf's picks was perfect. I'll take care of the explanations in case he does not understand your post (but I think he will anyway).

XP: never ending story?
When I come to this forum, 8 out of the 15 threads on the first page alone are about XP civs.
I think I won't be coming back here for a while.

Ranking updated: last update: alf, 204 votes, 31273 points. Congrats to jasev on casting the 200th valid vote
I also added links to the 'Expansion Pack Civs Explained' threads in the first post, as those are very relevant for this thread (though I may need to move it to the second post in the near future as I'm getting extremely close to the 20000 character max).
I updated my own vote as well: Hebrew -10, Olmec +10. Thanks to the new 'XPC Explained' threads I've come to agree with some of the other people around here that the Hebrew weren't quite as important as some other civs (besides, they already have plenty of points), while I was never quite happy with the fact that I had withdrawn my vote for the Olmec...
Anunikoba,
Maybe you should increase the number of threads per page n your preferences?

Thank you thank you. It's a great honor to receive this award. It was not an improvised work, but it wouldn't have been possible without my supporting team.

@ jasev
GP,
I (reluctantly) accepted Lumpkin's vote because it's apparently some character/nation/whatever from Lord of the Rings and (to the best of my knowledge) humanoid. Your poodles (and about a dozen other dog races that have been suggested so far) are not humanoid so I didn't accept them.
I know, it's a very thin line but I have to draw it somewhere...

The List
Mongols - 20
Spanish - 20
Vikings - 20
Arabs - 15
Dutch - 5 (edited: dropped after seeing Fresno's (aka Akaoz, according to who started that post)) American thread & his obvious troll desire to start a feud with the Americans, I don't care to have the Dutch in any more. Oligarf's 1st post in that thread kept this from going to 0)
Inca - 7
Phoenicians/Carthaginians - 7
Turks/Ottoman - 7
Australians - 11 (edited: was 6, raised after reading Mongoloid Cow's & Skanky Burn's posts)
Brazilians - 11 (edited: was 6, raised after reading some of Craftsman's & Alexnm's posts)
Byzantines - 6
Czech - 6
Hungarians - 6
Huns - 6
Poles/Polish - 6
Swedes - 6
____________
Total = 159
Anyways these votes have little influence, but they are my votes

Niemcy is Germany in polish, I think so...
There are a traslator on line spanish-> english, i don't see polish-> english.
The spanish is spoken for 350.000.000, the polish for the tenth part.
In this year have visited Spain 25.000.000 of foreigh.
Perhaps, someday, you visit this wonderful country... will be good that you know some words like, comer, chorizo, jamón, paella, disfrutar, playa, mar, sol, tranquilidad, monumentos, mujer, baile, descanso, siesta, felicidad, vino, cerveza, calimocho, borracho, barato, AMABLE, EDUCADO, TRANSIGENTE, CONSIDERADO, DISPUESTO, ABIERTO.
The lasts words, in capital letters, define the spaniard, mean that when you need anything, information, etc, in Spain, some spaniard help you, though don't speak english, or polish, like me...btw, if you visit Spain, call me, i will help, je,je,je
Espero que te hayas enterado, aunque mi inglés es malísimo.
Otra cosita, tu alias te viene pintiparado,... serás de Lepe?, ja,ja,ja
Locutus... "cojonudo" literally is that you say... but I meaning that you are AMABLE, EDUCADO, TRANSIGENTE, CONSIDERADO, DISPUESTO, ABIERTO, well, like the many spaniard,... at least my friends, JB, Fiera, Waku, Kindal, Pco, etc, etc, ja,ja,ja

Well, I'd love to help you salvage your ego but I'm afraid you weren't the first to vote for dog-races. You were the first to vote for kittycats or sportsteams though, I hope that enough for your ego
Jay Bee,
Yeah, that's a little closer to what one would expect from a dictionary (I'd still prefer the uncensored version though)
Leppersson,
Well, your vote I couldn't accept unless someone would translate it to English for me (yes, I know it's not an actual vote), 'cause you apparently use a different alphabet. I have no idea how to translate something like 'W 33osi' or '_#ydzi' to something sensible
Pyrodrew,
Not that I care but, are you saying that you base your vote not on the importance of these civs but on the behavior of one or two people that happen to be members of these civs? Curious criterium...
More importantly, as I explained numerous time before: don't edit your vote but post an update instead! This way it's impossible for me to keep track of people's votes. Fortunately I wasn't online in the time between your original post and your edit but otherwise I could well have used your unedited vote and never even have seen the edited version.
Edit: alf, coming from a Spaniard, and knowing the pride with which Spanish people can speak of their own country and people, I'll take that as a big compliment
