What an amazing coincidence! One of my Gun Dreadnaughts, in its eplorations, unleashed some loathsome indigenous sea creature - which we have assigned the xenobiological name of Islus of the Deepicus - last turn! The IoD turned away from my combat vessel and headed towards shore...
And now my boat crew tells me there is a badly damaged boil of writhing worms on shore near where the IoD landed.
Huhhhh. You don't suppose??? Nahhh....

Hey Vitamin J, has there been anything unusual happening around you? It looks like we need a coincidence of our own.

JohnD: Unless you're neck-deep in arid, fungus-covered terrain, I'm afraid we don't have much in common... Things are slightly looking up, though...
JPJ: I coulda swore they were the same guy!

MY 2118 to Cap'n LaxSmax.
(Actually I also resent Cap'n KnakLak's 2117 turn to Scipio as well - as it was the last one in my Sent Mail collection - when I went to make this post, that was when the light came on TILT - Incorrect Year - TILT. )
So I sent the right effen year this time along with the wrong effen year .
Sorry for all the delay; it appears that I never sent the turn despite posting here thought I had a system that was supposed to prevent me from doing that. Can I blame it on the gremlins that slow down Apolyton?
And here I was waiting for all you "slow" players to get moving - I need a rock to crawl under - maybe I'll just sit underneath a nice big Fungal Tower.

JPJ: I got the turn OK. I'll have to get my hotmail sorted to have another address. I hope I don't have to... I like the one I'm using now and I get zero spam. If you keep having problems let me know.

I just got a turn from JPJ called 2121. It should be 2122, I think. JPJ, can you tell me if it's the right turn or not? I have an old comp and I hate to load up the turn only to find out it's wrong. I sent 2121 to JohnD yesterday, I think.

VJ,
Maybe its time to let that old comp try it out; after all, it couldn't have taken this long to open the file
(JPJ is the one who has to change the date on the file, perhaps he forgot; maybe also he checks his email for the turns rather than readilng the thread).

There should be a link to 'receive updates to this thread' or some similar verbage near the top of each pageful of messages in any thread. Did you try re-subscribing this way?
I've had my subscriptions to threads 'mysteriously' dropped in the past and that link seems to get the ball rolling again.

Turn 2122 to Cap'n Krik(ity)Bak
Re Subscriptions, etc: I just refresh the (bookmarked) "View All Subscribed Threads" page (originally from the Poly Control Panel) periodically. Its more dependable than the emails.
