{executing protocol Firaxis.Webmonkey.Alpha}

I'm sure someone saw this coming, but...

Every single one of those screens is old, and some of them aren't even real game screens. I just pointed this out to Thunderfall over at CivFanatics.

Speaking of the screenshots, some folks are expressing surprise to see one for the Vikings and one for the Mongols. I guess they didn't believe Civ was, how shall I say it, customizable???

I thought as much Dan. Some of those screens look familiar from a long time ago...

Wheeew... those did look old.

And I was scared ***tless when I saw the Alpha Centaury engine being used for the graphics. I guess that was the work of the previous team that left for BHG???

Some of the screenshots over at CivFanatics had Civ2 city desgins (I'm not sure if these were used in SMAC) and included Civs that aren't even in the game! Why did these shots just start circulating now after so long? Most of those shots still have the placement art in them.

Those aren't cinematics screens, they were a first pass at backgrounds for the technology advisor screens (1 per era, which explains the 4 images and their themes).

But, the opening cinematic *was* done by the same artist who did the screens in question, so I guess that's close

Oh, ok. *stifles excessive elation*
Well, right decision to remove them as dim background screens, the grainy pattern works better for that purpose.

lol, skipping over because you didn't really say anything, did you, Uber? The MP bomb was clear to anyone who spent time on the board. And you spend time on the board, don't you? I mean, 8 posts a day ain't easy to do.

yeah, on the second screen a part of the RR is disconnected from the rest of it. does one still have to start in one city and finish in other to have it connected or is any portion of the RR automatically connected to all the neighbouring portions?
