What Will You Do?
I am just curious how the MP info is going to alter the outcome of peoples purchases. There are many posts both ways, but i wanted to see a tally...one that may effect Inofgrams' decisions in the future...if they even care about their customers. I mean the whole thing was an obvious marketing ploy, and I personally feel abused by the system. I will not buy MP, only becuase I never have in the past, and I find no need to in the future. And having to pay for the same game again, but with MP, just to get me hooked on MP is not going to happen anytime soon.

Yoohoo!
I'm the first person to post that I'll wait for MP. In truth, I don't know, what I'll do. I'm waiting for the reviews; and feedback from this forum when it's released.

As much as I'm dissapointed with Firaxis over this MP issue, I won't kid myself by saying I'm not going to buy the game. I'll break down and get it within the first week it's out.

I really can't see myself having a long enough period of uninterrupted time to play MP (I have a 2-year old kid!).
So, MP is really not an issue for me personally.

I'll buy SP - I have it preordered (read reserved) at my local EB, and I plan to fulfil my order. As for MP - that depends on a) how much time I have and b) whether it's free or not. If it's free, I'll get it. If it's not and I don't have the time, I won't. If it isn't, and I do - afraid I'll have to warez it. I'm not planning on paying again for a game I already have just to get the MP addon. This may be rethought if the MP is packaged with other addons.

You don't think others have been looking forward to it as much as you?
I actually don't have ANY faith in them to tell you the truth. And you say "cheap-ass" but seeing how you're not old enough to have a job, is it you thats paying for the game or mommy and daddy?
Believe it or not, some people value their money and expect a solid product. If being a smart consumer means being a "cheap-ass", then I'd rather be a cheapass.

This is also the option I would have chose. I saw this poll right when it was first posted and wanted to point this out but the problem is that 95% of the polls never have the option I want, so I got sick of saying it and decided to wait until someone else pointed it out.
Of course, it's my faith that if MP has to be bought, it will be bundled in an expansion that will have new features, civs, etc., that I would have bought anyway.

I will buy the SP version. When an MP version is released, I will study exactly the forum, whether MP is worth buying or not. (Better AI, More civs, less bugs, better editor)
When you have to pay for it, I hope there is an update for all SP-versionversion, which is cheaper.

If I mention it enough...
I'm not buying it until a version is released with a scripting language, or the price drops to £15.

Couldn't agree more. If I have to pay for MP it had better include a whole new release of the game. But not having MP out of the box is going to limit the classic status of Civ3, cause once I've worked out how to beat the AI there will be no where else to go.

Thanks Drake, excellent post! I am one of those cheap-asses because I am in college working my ass to pay for it all. So I guess that I should just suck it up and buy this rushed product because Infogrames wouldn't let Firaxis postpone it a couple months.

I first have to be convinced that the Game itself is worth buying (see the DEMO Poll). I don't care if the initial Game supports MP or not, as Civ and Civ2 didn't either and were good anyway. But if they decide to release a MP they should better releas it as a free Patch. I hate this whole money making philosophy that works with muck about customers on purpose. If they try to sell the MP addon I will get a pirated copy of it just as protest.
I'm a mature customer, I know what I want and don't like to be dictated by the Industries. I'm ready to pay good money for good products, but I don't want to spend my Money to unhonorful People, bamboozler and dazzlers. Sorry, but i've got sick by all those promises nobody keeps. Are I expecting to much?

Correct, I never bought directly a Microsof product. I've got some as bundle with new Computers, but never intentionally bought one. Unfortunately, you still paid for them. What do you think, you got them for free from M$?
