To use, or not? Final details.
My scenario is nearing completion. All tech-trees are finished and work as wanted, units are basicly done, just 1 or 2 more to draw, but that will be done today, most cities placed, event file is almost full to the limit and other files have been amendd, too.

It is from 1204 to 1453. About the Byzantine Empire. Stretching from modern day Yugoslavia(Serbia+Kosove+Montenegro), Greece, Bulgaria,
Turkey, Cypres to the wester Kaukasian and Syria. 7 civs: Byzantines, Venetians, Ottomans, Latins, Serbs, Epirotes and Trapezuntines + Barbarians.

Just a few more details to be sought out:

1) Should I use diplomats now or not?
The thing is I can only diable the steal tech option for the human player not the AI.

2) Areas I do not want to conquered early on:
Place barb cities there or just rugh terrain?
Or only barbs in fortresses?

3) I need some ideas for wonders. Not that I wouldn't have any yet but they are almost all in one city.
I have till now: Hagia Sofia, Hippodrome, Golden Horn, Michaels Resturation, Byzantine Discipline. Thing is they are all for the Byzantines, although they will have to take some of them back in the beginning.
I would need wonders for Athens, Mistra, Thessaloniki, Adrianople(Edirne), Ioninna(today Janina), Trabzon(in northern Turkey) and Ankara to name the important ones. If you have any idea for another city please tell me, too.

4) How do I get my Title.gif in color?
I have tried everything I could think of and I can only get it to show in black and white(mono..something).
Otherwise civ crashes.

If you need more info, ask.

Thanks in advance.

On point 4) see sleague.apolyton.net/Guides/sldt_titlegif.shtml - I suspect you haven't saved the Civ2 pallete from units.gif / units.bmp and then loaded that pallete onto your proposed title.gif.

Hendrick,
Question 1: I always have that argument with myself about diplomats when doing a scenario.

I have found that limiting their move to 1 and removing the ignore ZOC flag limits their ability to get into cities. That way you can have them in the game without them overwhelming it.

Wonder suggestions:

Parthenon for Athens -- equivalent to Oracle or Eiffel Tower?
Eleusinian Mysteries for Athens (or Eleusis if it's on your map)-- equivalent to Mike's Cathedral

Alright, Cam I did exactly as told and the result was that Civ still crashes.
I think I better stay with the black and white image...

valmont, you don't happen to know where I could find pictures for those "wonders"?

I decided not to use diplos in the end because they kept stealing techs, though not as much as before but still to many and especially the wrong ones.

Hendrik, sorry - I don't know what the problem could be then. You could e-mail the graphic to me and I'll have a 'tinker' with it if you want.

Thanks guys! I will mail both of you the graphic tomorrow..ehh...I mean later today.
Around 4 or 5 pm Central European Time.
I'm just staying up to long, maybe that is the cause.

Here's some images that would be suitable to represent the Eleusinian Mysteries:
http://www.cs.umb.edu/~meyer/project...Persephone.htm
http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Aege.../art-music.htm
http://www.pantheon.org/mythica/gall...ersephone.html

Or if something simpler is desired, I suggest an image of a pomegranate sliced into halves.

Here are some images of the Parthenon:
