Report to the Board of Directors, MY 2250-65
----------------------------------------
2250 - Switched all specialists to Engineers. Discovered an attack aircraft squadron causing pacifist drones in the base working on the SP! Sent it out on a recon mission over Believer territory - unit disbanded after mission completion. Rushed the Cyborg Factory by 100 EC. Morgan Industries will begin work on a Sky Hydroponics Laboratory next year.
2251 - Odd. Morgan Industries constructed a strike chopper unit, but there is no target in range. Had to disband the unit, as the pacifist drones were disrupting work on the satellite. Cleaned up in the design workshop, so if your favorite unit has been obsoleted/upgraded you will need to recreate it.
2252 - Lal calls. He insists that we aid him in his war with the Spartans. I sign us up. I buy Silksteel Armor from Lal. You do not want to know the price. This guy is well versed in the art of extortion. Some unit designs upgraded with the new armor.
2253 - The Hive has eradicated the Gaians. Yang is in position to eliminate the Believers and the Spartans at his leisure. That would leave us and Lal vs Yang.
2255 - We launch our first satellite. Colonel Santiago convenes the Planetary Council to vote on a proposal to repeal the UN charter. We decline. The measure loses by a 1:4 vote.
2256 - We build the Cyborg Factory and begin work on the Supercollider.
Planet Blight wipes out the forest around Morgan Construction.
I am sending formers to raise land to connect our western peninsula to the south pole. Hopefully there will be a single tile that we can build a base on for canal access from the [soon to be] inland antarctic ocean to the other oceans. I am also raising some land on the eastern peninsula just to help the close packed bases grow.
2258 - The Peacekeepers sieze Water to Wine [Believers] - I think this was an ungarrisoned seabase Miriam had just founded, because I can't find any such base now and Miriam still has her original 4 bases. The Hive siezes a Spartan outpost, whose name I did not catch.
How disappointing... the Hive seems to be building a Fusion Planet Buster at University Base. Luckily, the good Chairman does not possess the Hunter-Seeker Algorithm. Perhaps one of our new Drop Mobile Spec-Ops Detachments could find its way into University Base at some point and see to it that some unfortunate accident occurs?
2259 - Hmmm? Pact Brother Lal just sent several transports next to our shoreline. Let's see what he has in mind...
2260 - Yang calls us. He demands several hundred joules for an end to the vendetta. I offer a lessor amount. He declines our more than generous offer and so the vendetta continues.
2261 - The Hive sizes Parade Ground from the Spartans. Not long for the Colonel...
2263 - That comedian Lal planted a seabase off our northern coastline. Oh well. If we want it, we can always take it.
2265 Summary
---------------
>The Hive just siezed Fort Superiority from the Spartans.
>"God does not play dice... but he does play SMAC v4.0" Morgan Interstellar builds the Supercollider.
>An Airborne Mobile Spec-Ops unit is approaching New Gruesome for possible activity at Yang Mine. Yang does not have HSA.
>We need to decide what to do about UN Education Agency, if anything.
>We're a little behind on the light-weight, but necessary, infrastructure like Bio Labs and Energy Banks.
>We should probably have some Tactical Chopper Squadrons scattered about to deal with incoming threats.
>I never built a Punisphere. If some one wants those, go for it.
>Lal is a major extortionist when it comes to giving up his tech. Better to rush buy labs and research it ourselves.
>I put the DW the way I wanted it. Now it belongs to the next CEO. Rebuild it from scratch if you like. I won't be offended.
>I was going to raise some land by the Borehole Cluster to close off our southern sea. Up to the next fella now.
- Scipio Centaurus, CEO Team Mogan, presiding

Er, whoops!
Thanks for skipping me, something came up and I just plain forgot about this game.... I'm ashamed... play on! I'll jump in next round, if/when we get there.

Talk about red-faced. I think I just bypassed Qantaga [and you]. Go ahead and take my place this round Qantaga. Sorry.

Scipio, no worries about skipping over me, my friend. I came to this thread late and my name isn't even in the main play list, so I completely understand.
I am happy to keep the current order going and I will just pick up when my turn rolls back around.

OK. Turn to Blake then. I don't have Blake's email so I hope he's reading this.

I would rant about the lack of orbitals, but now I am in command NOTHING can stand between the Morganites and a raft of growth enhancing sky hydroponic labs.
2265: Changed production to and rushbuyed several SkyLabs.
Renamed New Gruleousm to Funishment Phere and changed production to a Punishment Sphere.
Renamed the "Freedom Flitter" to "Freedom Fighter".
Started plotting to rob Yang blind of tech....
Also I decommonised all our Engineers and replaced them with workers or Thinkers (for drone control). We need the growth due to no pop-booming, but the Orbitals should help the growth problem...
2266: Researched Superstring Theory. Dang.
Bought a bunch of new chaos choppers to be rehomed at FP.
Because we have sky labs all future terraforming will be either boreholes or forest
Spent a heap of money... in fact we are almost out.
2267: The Chaotic Fritters rehomed to PS base.
2268: All 3 Fritters go Hive Hunting, one lost as it runs out of hitpoints. Drop units flutter down next to Yang Mine. Including a 1-1-1 built at FP this year, upon landing he is upgraded to Silksteel+Commjammer, to cover the drop probe... Yang mine is empty of defenders courtesy of Flitters.
7 Hydro Labs, should be enough for now...
Okay, who was the moron who set our planes to Auto-Idiot, two of those silly impact interceptors fly off way yonder over the ocean, causing 4 drones at Morgan Industries. Time to change some orders, methinks.
2269: We research Monopole magnets! But i wanted Adv.Eco.Eng! CEO TANTRUM! CEO TANTRUM!
Yang Mine is mine!, um, I mean ours . The drop probe makes off with Organic Superlube from a nearby base. Organic superlube, great stuff, great stuff....
2270: Volcanic Entertainment founded... no, you can guess where that base was founded . It's going to get a Punishment Sphere too.
Advanced Spaceflight liberated from Yang's datalinks.
CEO Blake decides to launch heaps of Orbital Power thingymigies before anyone can stop him. Mmmmmmmmm. Pure profit.
2271: Completed Ascetic Virtues.
Lobbed up a Energy Sat. +1 energy every base *sigh*.
Lal actually wants to trade! And he doesn't want an arm and a leg for tech.
Bio-engineering for Centurai Meditiation and Planetary Economics for Doctrine:Initiative. And with that we take the absolute tech lead.
2274: Nothing terribly exciting happened lately... just working on infrastructure...
2276: New tech... Nanominiturization!. But I wanted Adv.Eco.Eng! CEO TANTRUM! CEO TANTRUM!
2278: Nothing exciting lately....
2279: Lal calls Trade Pact, Two Yay's, two Nay's, and 3 locked away in Yangs punishment sphere. (Sparta got assimilated by the Hive a bit earlier)
Research Industrial Nanrobotics. CEO Blake ranted and called the researchers incopetent fools and was just about to go nervestapler happy on them, when the quick thinking Chief Scientist pointed out that the Nanofactory would make former upgrades that much cheaper. Thusly calmed CEO Blake ordered a change of SP from The Longlivity Vacinne to The Nanofactory (due in 5 turns).
2280: Morgan Industries now has a full compliment of Orbitals. 9 Nut sats, 11 energy Sats.
** ECONOMY AND INDUSTRY **
Okay, our profit and tech rate have both gone up. 519/3 turns at 40/10/50 split.
Virtually all bases now have Fusion Labs & tree farms.
Energy banks, net nodes and biolabs are still behind though.
We have a few hybrid forests in the huge bases.
I've started construction of Robotic Assembly plants, by my estimate we are about 20 minerals below the Clean Mineral Threshold, so bases of mineral production of 40 should be acceptable, and once a few more Hyrbids / preserves have gone in 60 would be a good target.
I suggest rushbuying the Nanofactory and doing some pretty hefty upgrading - we dont have much clean stuff yet. I thought I would have got Adv.Eco.Eng in my term and be able to do both the clean and super upgrades for our formers at once.
Our SE is demo/FM/Wealth. But with the Nanofactory we should switch to Knowledge for better morale, we can upgrade shell units so cheaply anyway....
There is two punishment spheres, scrap them if you wish, but wait for the base to grow to full size, because PSpheres are great for growth (no need to have specialists for drone control).
Research priorities are BUILD, next tech next turn, is BUILD (probably AEE)
Oh, and Morgan Trade Centre is being set up as a Planetbuster construction base, already has a skunkworks, it should work 4 boreholes, have a Robotic Assembly plant and build a PB. Just in case. (altough that's up to the next guy...)
**TERRAFORMING**
I think we should drill lots of boreholes everywhere, our growth is excellent thanks to the orbitals, and we have more land than workers. Upgrade the existing condensors to enrichers, but I cant see the benefit of building more (except prehaps in the jungle base, which incidentely got hit with planetblight, and is being reterraformed)
We also have a few segments of magtube, but only 3 cities are linked at the moment.
*MILITARY*
I have established a beachhead in Hive territory, it is stocked with 2 probes, assorted infantry (including a comm jamme guy), a shard battery, a couple of chaos choppers, and a couple of drop-rovers are getting repairs at NewJ. Yangs having fun pillaging the surronding terrain, but the base is under no immediate threat, and armed to the teeth.
Yang has a combination of silksteel COMM and AAA troops in every base, combined with the Perimeter Defenses and Aerospace complexes neither rovers or Choppers are effective.... prehaps 'trained' elite infantry constructed under knowledge (I suggest the use of a trained scout patrol shell).

Awww c'mon! They were just trying to provide air cover for your invasion.
I'm still looking for the best command for air defenders. I tried the Sentry/Board Transport [L] command in my last SP game and that was useless. Miriam flew her jets into my territory with impunity while my air defenders sat around playing pinochle.

Report to the Board of Directors of Morgan Industries for period 2180-2195
by CEO Former-Former C.E.O. C.E.O.J.D.M. of M.I.
In Brief
Our business is doing great, we are numero uno in all metrics that matter (except Military and Territory) and have been pushing back the Chairman on his own turf. We continue to favor Wealth at the expense of Morale, but as the Chairman isn't known for quality armory products, we are still Highly Competitive in the Military arena, although there are close battles sometimes. We could go Cybernetic and improve our dismal relationship with the natives as well as our research and efficiency, but at the cost of an astounding -7 Police rating, which we could probably handle allright - its just one extra drone whenever we mess up with the Fun Pher and boundary stuff, theoretically handleable, although to err is human. The fighting is slow going, althouth some of you may find otherwise. We are leaving Zak VII with a large diverse force in Yang's territory ready to rock and roll if he chooses. The supporting infrastructure is in place, although it needs constant attention to keep it running smoothly and at a suitable profit growth rate to keep our stockholders happy. I would guess that we will Transcend before we kill Yang, like in the last game, but this time I think we could reasonably expect to kill him if we took it that far, whereas the last time, he was outrageously bigger than us. Sorry it took me so long, but I got into the micro approach and it takes quite a while with our current size.

..Misc:
...2291: Traded our tech to Lal for Morgan ReEducation Dept - (bridge to northern territories)
------ The Battle for Huddling of the People began with the people huddling while the Air Raid sirens wailed - "It must be Lal's revenge for the nuking we gave that snake", said one; "No, look at that big Yellow Streak in the sky", said another, "Its that Capitalist Pig Morgan p***ing away his money on those lowest bidder missiles; the Vermin won't be able to get us with that!" Sure enough, the Banner of the Blue Fist of Death still flew over the fortress; but the cheers turned to tears when they saw how little was left of it. "Don't worry, said the second, "we've got almost half the Blue Air Force at the base." "But they are the 'Blue Fist' wing, to get back at the vermin with, not the 'Blue Shield' wing with all the Peoples Blue Interceptors - thats what we'll need when all those choppers over there come calling - ya see that yellow smoke over there . . . . . "
. . . . . "No, Major Morgan, we can't rename it 'Piddling of the People', no matter who you say is your 2nd cousin twice removed!"
...2292: Learned Self Aware Machines (orbital mines & defense) -
....... Morgans TollHouse founded in the strait separating M."Entertainment" from our mainland
....... Morgans Munificent Inlet founded in a Harbor off the Inner Sea
....... GOLDGOLDGOLDGOLD Coast on an Industrial beach on the Inner Sea
...2293: Hey that Yang keeps on ticking - Came on with a nasty Artie and bashed thru the Tach Field and all at Morgan's Ying-Yang, bruising our large barracks full of pretty boys (We had shipped our only artie off to the Huddling). Well, the CEO pulled out his wad and you should have seen that Blue Attie's Blue Eyes Bulge, he put on our Yellow suit before the ink was even dry on the money.
...2294: Miriam has been harassing us lately up north; attacking our (guarded) Sea Former outside M.Metallurgy; perhaps she needs another lesson
..... Learned Retroviral Engineering (GeneJack Factories for our Punishment Bases!)
...2295: Brother Lal almost got the Melting Polar Ice Caps thing through (2 to 2)
......Yangs Air Force jets zapped 2 spy ships in The Cultural Confluence between Factory Maze and M.Metallurgy
...... The Cork in the BathTub Founded between FunPher and Morgan's Ying-Yang
---A number (4) of decent SPs are available to us at present.
---Our Larger bases are topping out at population = 13 Need NanoMetallurgy, Matter Compression & Super Tensile Solids for Hab Domes. None of the others have any techs we don't have.
---Just starting to get into Defense Pods, 1 in orbit, several under construction; haven't built any Mining sats, but might have put one in a queue somewhere.
---The fighting in Yangs territory is more or less ready for some aggressive activity; the next CEO might want to get organized as to what forces are available in Ying-Yang and Huddling (as it is a pain to scroll through them) before setting out on a crusade. Yang has been sending a probe or two at Ying-Yang each turn along with a couple of random attack units. Socialism Tunnels, the nearest base has been knoked back a few times, but it has gotten bigger lately, but without any really tough units that we couldn't take out - I've made sure that the Aerospace Complex stays dead, but he keeps trying to build it back. Watch out that you don't get short of probes as it takes a while to get them from home.
---Have connected our territory and Yangs with an expanded island /causeway, still under construction, road-wise; a mag tube would make reinforcements a lot easier to deal with.
---Watch out for random military units that might have not been homed to a Punishment Sphere base; for example, the "Cornerback" (SAM Chopper) up north is one of those and it has been known to scramble out of the dotted lines near M.Metallurgy. With an AeroCntr at M.ReEducation Center, it could be more safely based there. There are others too, like the originally probed units in the bases recently acquired from Yang and probably more forgetfuls. Try to keep some extra psyche in Morgan Industries and Industries Morgan, where much of the Attack Air was made and also to some extent in the former Miriam bases, where the misc land stuff was made so that it could get to FunPher on the MagTrain (and jump the same turn after hopefuly being rehomed). A Paradise Garden in all of those bases could be just the ticked.
---Potential Base Sites @ around(83,71), [(2,66), (1,65) or (1,66)], around(24,52), around(38,66), on and NW of Mt Planet
Good luck to the next CEO, Zak VII

Excerpts from Annual Financial Conferences, MY2195-2310
Military Summary - NOTHING. No conquest, no loss.
Expansion Summary - NOTHING. No new bases.
Diplomatic Summary - NOTHING. Didn't speek with anyone.
Research Summary - A LOT. You wouldn't understand the stuff they're cooking up
Infrastructure Summary - A LOT. Fusion/Quantum/Bio labs everywhere, along with Tree Farms/Hybrid Forests, Hab Domes, Research Hospitals, and Aerospace Complexes and most bases have NetNodes, Energy Banks, Nanohospitals.
Financial Summary - Annual gains up 241% from 885 to 3014. So, basically, VERY GOOD.
Overall Summary - WE GONNA WIN
Detailed Report:
Note - so much was hurried that I'm leaving all the stuff that was built out. It would be quite tedius to list the hundreds of facilities built (Quantum + Hab Domes + Nanohospitals at all bases, and they weren't available before).
2296 - We learn BIOMACHINERY. Who says Morgan can't pop-boom? In this first year of upheaval with the rise of the new CEO, build queues and production were changed dramatically (I'm a true non-military type, so everything that was red but Aerospace Complexes disappeared ). And so 3 Nessus Mining Stations came to be launched, although none were in production before.
2297 - A new race of man, Homo Superior, is born. I don't know what they're gonna do for us, but they're supposed to be "superior". Anyway, our workers have been quite "superior" and have finished all the FOP satilites (at least 13 each of Hydroponics Labs, Power Transmitters, and Mining Stations...hehe, 15 satilites built in 3 years, mmm, satilities...)
2298 - YIKES!! Our dear "friend" Yang has decided there is no point in life and so has started hurling PLANET BUSTERS around........................at Lal. Whew ! Thanks Yang, due to the immence civilian casualties, now we're only 15 votes behind Lal, we should be Governer soon ! Oh yes, and Frictionless Surfaces were discovered.
2299 - Crop Failure at Industries Morgan. Oh well, it had like 50,000 surplus nutrients anyway . Cloning Vats completed, and with a good ol' round of pop-booming, we have enough votes to crush Lal in the election! Miriam and Yang just sat in the corner and Abstained, so it was just him an' me. And I won .
2300 - Lots of action. QUANTUM POWER discovered, and we've polished off the Nano Factory and the Theory of Everything (JDM, did you think I was just gonna sit around while Yang built that ?)
2301 - Not much action. Nanometallurgy. Blegh.
2302 - Peacekeepers liberateUN Humanitarian Base from Miriam. Happy happy joy joy. Another Secret Project finished off, this time the Network Backbone (at the same base as ToE and SC - it was expensive, but I did get it in 2 years )
2303 - Lots of action, again!! With the completion of the Universal Translator came Centauri Genetics, Graviton Theory (bleh) and Centauri Psi. Oh yes and while all these exciting science developements were taking place, our workers finished off yet another Secret Project, this time the Self-Aware Colony.
2304 - Will To Power. Yay. Would be a lot nicer if we weren't already Cybernetic .
2305 - Pholus Mutagen built, Matter Compression learned. Overall a quiet year.
2306 - Lal gets -*floomped*- again with one of those big missiles. No, not by me, you evil people! I would never do such a thing! It was the Hive again. Um, ahem, we also discovered the Secrets of Creation, and with that burst of research discovered Super Tensile Solids.
2307 - Yang calls just to tell me how evil my Democracy is. So sue me. Or can you not do that in a Police State? Matter Editation discovered. Speaking of discovering things, our Sea Formers had an interesting discovery. They were raising some ocean into shelf so they could kelp/harness it, and guess what popped up when they raised it? A brand new Nutrient bonus! Yippee!
2308 - Eudaimonia (FINALLY!!)...and the Space Elevator and Dream Twister finished! With the coming of Eudaimonia, we switched from Democracy/Free Market/Wealth/Cybernetic to Democracy/Green/Wealth/Eudaimonia for immense industry bonuses (industry = good because I like to hurry lots and lots ) at the expense of a little research. To honor the quelling of rampant riots, the Punishment Spheres were burnt to the ground and Funishment Phere was renaimed the Fun Sphere .
2309 - Industrial collapse at Lord Morgan's Gift. Oh well. That doesn't stop us from discovering...Applied Gravitonics. Hmph. On a better note, we finished Clinical Immortality!!!
2310 - Singularity Mechanics discovered!!! Next year CEO Smack should have a grand (= long) time, as, well, I finally counted, and it seems I hurry about 30 facilities per turn . So have fun sifting through all that . On the other hand, we are getting the Telepathic Matrix next turn...
So...by the numbers:
4323 tech per turn - increase (not just change) of 147% over the previous 1750
4340 tech cost (for all purposes, we're getting a tech per turn, since a little bit is carried over, even though it's saying 2 turns, since we're missing the last 17 points) - increase of 32% from the previous 3286
3013 EC's per turn, an increase of 241% from 885 per turn.
1046 votes - increase of 264% from the previous of 287
1387 score - increase of 73% from the previous of 802
10 Secret Projects built during my reign (of benevolency) - ToE, NB, CV, NF, UT, SAC, PM, SE, DT, CI, and one (TM) is being built next turn
No new bases
Nothing in military
We have 13/15/15/4 satilites, and increase from 10/0/14/1
We're researching something in Discover - Secrets of Alpha Centauri I think (blast, I just missed those Transcends!!)
By category, we have 95%/94%/90%/93% of the techs - increase (obviously) from 57%/73%/71%/56%
We are only missing about 5 techs. Smack will most likely be able to TRANSCEND during his reign (I'm pretty sure I could have won a Diplomatic Victory, because Lal would Abstain and then it would be my 1000 votes to Yang + Miriam's 200 or so, clearly enough, but Transcending is so much better )
So...well done Team Morgan!!
Oh, by the way, Smack, we only have like 30 EC's in the bank, but, um, there's nothing for you to Hurry, and next turn you'll get 3000 more, so it shouldn't be a problem

I guess our friend Smack must be busy with the real world these days. I haven't seen much of him around here lately.
Perhaps we should move the game to its conclusion. I could take the turn tomorrow night, but I have not been nearly as active in this game as Scipio has. Since Transcendence seems to be imminent, I will defer to the good CEO Scipio and let him lead us to ethereal bliss.
I will keep an eye out for the next Succession game. I am still interested in HerrDoktor johndmuller's Believer/probe challenge if it is still percolating.
