optimist unite!
Civ3 is just 17 days now from release. I call on all the Optimists and even the Realists to unite and make their voices heard. We need to stop this negativity that is overrunning this board.
let's show some optimism and excitement about our favorite game of all times!
Thank you firaxis for your hard work and dedication to the game. Thank you for listening to so many of our ideas and concerns.
I can't wait to play civ3 and have as much fun playing it as you all had making it!

The problem with the pessimists is they assume too much.
They only have themselves to blame, really

Nay!!! (all in unison now)
SP Optimist here- all of the people who are tired of the *eternal whine* of the MPlayers should at least understand the bulk of their constructive criticism, through all of the spam/flame-like-odor. They believe they were intentionally led on to believe that MP would be included in the game- many of them preordered with this belief. No matter who's at fault (I don't think it was the design team's decision, but some exec. in an office), how would we *optimists* feel if they had announced that it was only MP and no SP?
Think about it.
I'd be really pissed, too.

I understand the MP'ers criticisms and worries. However they need to be more respectful of Firaxis. There is no need to start insulting and cursing Firaxis. They are good people who have worked hard to produce a great game. As for me, I think civ3 will be amazing. And, MP will come, it has not been cancelled. And when MP is released, it should be really good since Firaxis spent extra time on it specifically. After all, isn't it better to wait for a really great MP than to have a mediocre MP released with the game?

Actually there are lot of things to be optimistic about. We will get a god game, good graphics and a manual. What else could you whish.
If only Dan could release the editors as the game ships in US and UK so I could have something to do while waiting for the Swedish release.

Cheerfully throwing in with the optimists!
Shall we vote on articles of secession from the pessimists?
(Sorry, influence from the OT Forum...)
I have seen no major reason to be worried about Civ3. I am excited...

Markos will be closing these threads soon before it all gets out of control like last time.
Thanking Mark ahead of time for doing this.

The epitome of pessimism.
Besides, there's a drinkin' thread still open... Does Mark take the weekends off? If so, then there's a LOT of cleansing to do on Monday...

If you are not trying to cause trouble then why did you title this thread "Optimist Unite"? Also, had these comment "We need to stop this negativity that is overrunning this board." Now this appears if you are trying to stop people from expressing their opinions. How can you back these actions up as not being troublesome?

I'm sorry to tell you this but it's too late for that. "So, you pessimists: be aware, we optimists will rule this forum once again!", "The problem with the pessimists is they assume too much.",
I should note that I am purposely giving you a hard time.
