In the SMAC folder there's a file called 'hallfame.jhh'. Try makig a copy of that file and replace it once you've reinstalled. Might just work.

Not just that file. There's a whole bunch of hof*.pcx files which are the images for the maps which are displayed in the hall of fame.

You may want to look at the directory in Explorer, sort by date, and sort through the files which are newer than the game's publishing date to decide which ones you want to keep.

If you still have a save file from the game(s) in question you can copy them to another drive and then drop them in your reinstalled game and open them up and relive your former glory.

So if I want to clear my hall of fame, I just delete Hallfame.jhh and all the Hof*.pcx files? I've been wanting to do that for a while. Or do they have to exist to prevent a game crash?
